When it got too cold at night for mine, I brought them indoors and kept them in my garage. They stayed in there without any sunlight. When it got too cold to leave them in my unheated garage, I moved them into my house, where they sat on an unlit shelf for the rest of winter. During this time, I didn't water them at all. When spring rolled around, new growth began budding out all in its own. When the weather outside was warm enough, I moved them outdoors to a shaded location and finally watered them. Needless to say that they didn't get any significant amount of sunlight during that entire time, and they did just fine.

thanks for the feed back PS, think I do the same today stack up all the furnicher and move a lot of plants inside for the next few months Its down to 14c inside at night so will start to light the fire soon it takes the temp up to 18 to 20c My next concern is just how dry the air/plants get inside over winter but I guess dehydrated is better than black rot

I have gas heat, which pretty much strips all of the moisture from the air. This didn't phase my adeniums whatsoever. They didn't get dehydrated, shrivel up, or anything. During this time, I didn't water them one bit.

feels like I just dodged a bullet 4c 300mm rain galeforce winds luckerly I just moved all my plants inside felt a bit sad for some plants not showing any signs of dormancy hoping that the lack of water and sun light will triger it and not produce long straggly growth
