I could have been more diplomatic in my comments. It was early after a hot night and I was grumpy. Anyway PF pretty much blooms continuously. RU is somewhat new, supposed to be a climber but mine is just floribunda sized. It had a very heavy first flush and now it is regrouping. I have a problem in that arbor with all the roses. Most don't grow vigorously, but then I think about Dr. W. van Fleet which shrugs off what ever is bothering the others.It does better than New Dawn. Ilse Krohn S. is the best of the rest so far manages to be head high. Manita across the way is the most vigorous of the K' climbers as is Antique '89. My original post on this subject was a quote from Charles Quest-Ritson's book about climbers and ramblers. "The trouble is that foreign names are often a barrier to popularity and commercial success. Many of the best German roses are ignored because of their names. Grossherzogin Eleonore von Hessen and Herzogin Viktoria-Adelheid von Coburg-Gotha may be difficult to remember and impossible for non-Germans to pronounce but their can be no excuse for ignoring such exceptional roses as Regierungsrat Rottenberger, Frau Eva Schubert, or Rosarium Uetersen." Wow! Talk about pronouncing, typing them ia also difficult.

Kay, how are you? I haven't been around for a while, I had to take a break and get myself together. To everyone I want to tell you that I am so sorry for your loss and sadness, it is the worst pain anyone can have BUT it does get better, I promise. My heart and soul mate died 14 months ago and I wanted to die with him, I was in so much pain and so scared of what was going to happen to me without him; life must go on. I was told that it doesn't get better but it gets different and they were right. I still weep and some days are bad but I have more good days as time goes on. Life won't seem so alien after a while, I just felt like I didn't belong here any more, not in my home, my job or this world but I did finally settle with my feet back on the ground. It's not easy but you have to push youself to live and it eventually gets easier. Please take care of yourselves, get help if you need it and work hard at being strong, we will never forget and we will always love them and happier days are ahead. God Bless all, Mav.

I am also trying to decide whether I like the back of the cabinet to be painted the same color as the walls or just leave it white. I think I am leaning towards leaving it white. You could see it in the picture but it isn't lit below the first shelf as I still haven't placed the order for the glass shelves. Taking a step back from being so TKO really helped. I took my time choosing the lighting - many returns, many days and nights staring at the computer screen. I knew I liked lanterns but was drifting in another direction. The breather helped. I am very happy with the lighting choice. I am working on the other rooms that look into the kitchen and the lantern pulls everything together.

I'm just blowing off steam here but after working in the public for 30 plus years...what does bother me is critisizing someone's dialect or the way they speak...we are a melting pot here in the US and i've learned never to critique the way someone speaks...I grew up in Southern Indiana, then moved to a large city when I was 12...I was called a hick because of the slow laidback dialect I had from living in the country on a farm for the first 12 years of my life...then I left and became a flight attendant...I lived in Atlanta for a month, back to Chicago for a month, then Houston for two years, back to Indiana for four years and have been in Georgia for the past 27...We merged with a very northern company based out of Minneapolis 3 years ago and there has been some heated issues with the merger...several of the Minneapolis based gals were in the lunch line with us one day and started making fun of the southern accents...I pretty much told them..."I grew up two hours south of Chicago, but I learned to speak SUTHIN when I moved here 26 years ago"...you know....when in Rome...it shut them right up...I've also called some of my family members on it...one of them actually accused me of faking my accent...OMG...I have better things to do then fake an accent... Sorry...didn't mean to ruffles anyones feathers...I've gotten really good at pinpointing where someone is from just listening to the words they use...it makes them feel special...so go on and PAK that CAH...youse guys from Chicago...like well I do love living in LAX...your voice and dialect just tells me where y'all hail from!!
