Do you have plans for the weekend? 5/21-5/22
Comments (12)Linda, it sounds like you will be really busy this weekend - you will be meeting yourself coming and going! Congrats Jackie on the upcoming wedding - good luck picking out a pattern & fabrics. Our big neighborhood garage sale is June 4 & we will be camping the 26th-June 1 so I will be trying to get things organized before & after. Not too much sewing going on here - my mom & MIL are still here (since May 6) and they leave on Monday. I did finish FM quilting a graduation quilt & pillowcase. Mom sewed the binding for me - God bless her! We have church potluck tonight & 2 graduations and neighbors for dinner tomorrow. It's been raining here in CO all month - we were 6" behind in needed rain when the month started and we are ahead now ... seems like we will be in for a wet summer. Comments (20)Donna, I'm sorry to hear about your mother, I hope she recovers quickly. Linda, what a cool quilt! I have a friend who has a birthday in November, and he hinted that he wanted a quilted tote bag so I've been playing with half and quarter square triangles... they aren't perfect, but I'm learning. He plays the piano and sings and his favorite color is pink and he likes rainbows, so I though this would be an appropriate fabric selection.... Not sure if I'll have it done by the 4th... I'm not going to get to work on it tomorrow because I'm going to Ocala to visit my grandmother... she hand quilts (only), and I'm going to bring my rail fence to show her... not done yet, but it's a work in progress. I nearly had a heart attack last night... I was surfing Craig's List for sewing machines as I frequently do, and found an add for a Bernina 820. I thought they were asking 500 dollars, and just before my heart stopped, I realized there was a 3 in front of the five! Oops... glad I didn't e-mail them! Not quite ready to spend almost as much on a sewing machine as a cheap used car!...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? June 19-21
Comments (18)Theresa...great quilt...love the colors! Congrats on three finishes...I know how good that feels! And Lois...that is going to be perfect for a guy quilt...the colors and design are perfect! I tried improv once, had fun, but didn't quite know when to stop...silly I know. I'm looking forward to seeing this finished! I have a few tops complete, and have decided it's time to find a longaremer to get them quilted. Trying to finagle them thru a small throat is just more effort than I'm up for...love doing the quilting on small quilts, but anything larger than a lap size and I'm tuckered out. While my upper arms need the work out, the rest of me just wants it done :-) I keep saying I'm going to start an Irish chain, but I must finish my leaf block and mail to Beverly...my weekend objective before going to back to work on Monday. Happy sewing everyone! V....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Sept. 22-23
Comments (8)We’re down in the islands for a week, and I haven’t even gotten my machine out yet. Maybe today. Spent most of the day trying to figure out how our new Hotpoint washer works. I bought it sight-unseen over the phone when our old GE died the day before we left at the end of May.. The really exciting news is that I have hot water wash for the first time ever here! We have gravity feed water, and the pressure/flow wasn’t enough to activate the Bosch instant hot water heater we bought for the master bath. Since the laundry shed is lower down and the water feed is straighter, I took the risk of having the heater installed there. It works! After Irma, I had to drag all the white covers Stateside to wash, but now I can try to clean some remaining things here. Then just need to replace the ruined covers and pillows that blew away....See Moreibquiltn4fun LindaH
