Are you quilting this weekend? June 21-23
Comments (7)I am more than knee deep in garden, and fruit......have more cherries to pit tonight, and almost enough cukes for a run of pickles this weekend. I did cut two lengths of cloth for the back of my depression block quilt. I decided to make this one daybed size and be done with it quick. Sewing? Yes, I had my g'daughter and her sweet baby over yesterday and hurried up and put a buttonhole and button on the pinafore I made the little one. It's fabric I brought back from Mexico and the dress has been made for some time and I've been waiting for her to grow into it, and also it's summer appropriate. I may sandwich the QIP this weekend, or I may not. It's a relief to just have the top done and I'm satisfied with the results....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Oct. 19-21
Comments (20)Donna, I'm sorry to hear about your mother, I hope she recovers quickly. Linda, what a cool quilt! I have a friend who has a birthday in November, and he hinted that he wanted a quilted tote bag so I've been playing with half and quarter square triangles... they aren't perfect, but I'm learning. He plays the piano and sings and his favorite color is pink and he likes rainbows, so I though this would be an appropriate fabric selection.... Not sure if I'll have it done by the 4th... I'm not going to get to work on it tomorrow because I'm going to Ocala to visit my grandmother... she hand quilts (only), and I'm going to bring my rail fence to show her... not done yet, but it's a work in progress. I nearly had a heart attack last night... I was surfing Craig's List for sewing machines as I frequently do, and found an add for a Bernina 820. I thought they were asking 500 dollars, and just before my heart stopped, I realized there was a 3 in front of the five! Oops... glad I didn't e-mail them! Not quite ready to spend almost as much on a sewing machine as a cheap used car!...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? June 18-19
Comments (10)I spend three days and nights in the hospital taking care of DH, who is now home. (Would you say control freak? I just hear the #s on hospital errors and prefer to be there to make sure everything is done properly. Easier on him, too. The nurses actually like that I am there...I get up with him at night to get him to the bathroom, etc. LOL) So that put me behind in making quilt for next Sat. graduation. So I'll definitely be working on it....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? August 19-21
Comments (8)I finished the baby quilt I posted this morning, and I've been working a good part of the day on my Antique Star quilt. All the Ohio Star blocks are sashed and sewn together. I just have the corner setting triangles and the border to go. Maybe I'll even get that done this week. Then I can sew the backing together and get the quilt off to my longarmer. Then I can start working on piecing the four other quilts that I took to Hawaii to work on last winter, and didn't. Plus, I've got two tops that need quilting. Where does the time go? I swear I got more quilting done when I was working full time....See Morenannykins
