Cold, blustery, snowy day today. The picture doesn't show it, but there was heavy but fine blowing snow when I took the picture an hour ago. There's a trace of snow laying along the sidewalks.

Gyr falcon, your invasive Oxalis looks really pretty. :) The Blue Dicks is lovely. I haven't heard of it before.

Oh, oxalis is murraysmom! In some areas there are hills with flows of brilliant yellow flowers. Forever. Unfortunately, there is no eradicating that stuff.

Your photo is mahonia, isn't it? That used to be more commonly planted here quite a few decades ago. It fell out of trend, but I have been seeing it offered for sale more frequently at nurseries here lately. I always laugh when they "reintroduce" as if it is something newly discovered. lol I've always liked how their yellow flowers would brighten the shady corners of the garden.

Gyr, thanks for identifying my plant! LOL I took this at the zoo and had no idea what it was. It was just really interesting. Do you think it is Leather leaf Mahonia? Once I saw what you called it, I looked it up and I think that is what this is.

I have an oxalis plant, but it gets little white flowers. I over-winter it indoors where it dies back to just a few flowers, but comes back quickly when it gets out on the front porch each spring.
