LOL Alisande! They have been and still are here. They are fed well, so they aren't about to leave.

stacey....She's a burrowing owl. The rabbit is bigger than she is. She has 3 babies & caught a mouse for them. Also fed them black stink bugs....you know...those hard shelled ones.....

Emma, the pileated is a very big woodpecker. They are not rare, but certainly not as common as the littler redheaded, downey and hairy woodpeckers. They like to have a lot of woods around them. They will come to feeders if you have suet. I've seen this guy a few other times, but not real often.

It's beautiful. I did some research and it is the ivory pileated that is rare. We have 2 kinds of woodpeckers in the trees behind our house. One is a red bellied woodpecker and the other is the smallest there is I think. It is just a little bigger than a sparrow.

Two summers in a row we had this red tailed hawk. I could get within 6 ft of him before he flew. We could always tell when he was around, the other birds really were noisy, warning others I guess. He was white with caramel streaks through his feathers when I first saw him.
