Are You Baking For The Weekend?
Comments (18)Made some ginger snaps Saturday. I call them 'ginger bends' as they aren't very hard. I always put lots of chopped crystalized ginger in them, plus more ground ginger than called for, plus whatever spicy season is in my cupboard that turns me on. Put some cayenne pepper in this time, which I've done before, but I think I may have gone a little overboard this time. Comments (30)I've had the urge for an Apple Crostata, and Empires and Cortlands are my favourite apples. Boy I wish I lived closer to you Alsisande, your apples look wonderful. I'm in apple country, but they're still pricey. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get some regardless. Nicole, I always put molasses in my bran muffins. They're in the oven over rice, baking now....See MoreWhat Are You Baking or Cooking for the Weekend?
Comments (20)I just put a turkey in the over and I am making a brownie since the oven is on. I wanted to take the chill out of the air here. Friday night I made Tiger Meat, For those of you who don't know what it is It is raw hamburger like ground chuck. I add green pepper, raw egg, onion and salt and pepper. It is really good. We eat it on saltine crackers. I got the meat from my brother who had the cow butchered. No I am not scared of getting salmonella. I would not just use any hamburger for it though. Some butcher shops sell the meat especially for this....See MoreAre You Baking or Cooking Something For The Weekend?

For dinner, I'm making a copycat recipe for the sweet potato dish we had at Red Lobster a couple of weeks ago to go with the copycat recipe for Alice Spring's Chicken from Outback....See More
