Right now I happen to be baking a blueberry loaf.

I made a dozen sour cream and pineapple muffins.

I baked a gluten-free Banana Cake (Friday). It's a great recipe that uses one banana and I added walnuts and currants. Sometimes I use dried pineapple in the recipe. I try to have something for the weekend should we have drop-in company.

I baked two birthday cakes on Thursday and Friday for my brother and elder son. I will take a few days off from baking and then bake another birthday cake and mail it to my younger son, who flew to Armenia on his birthday yesterday for a week's visit. He decided he'd rather celebrate when he returns next weekend. My family prefers this cake without frosting, but I must at least have ice cream with it. It is a moist, heavy chocolate cake and really can stand on its own.

I'm working on food for a baby shower my DD is hosting tomorrow afternoon. Today I baked cupcakes and brownies, pate a choux, and a salmon filet for mousse. When the salmon was 10 minutes away from being done, the electric went off, so I left it in with the door closed, and it was fine. The mousse is chillin' in the fridge.

While the salmon baked, I was pounding butter for puff pastry, so I stuck that in the freezer, after being assured by the voice on the phone, that the electric would be back on within the hour. Tomorrow I will bake egg puffs, cream horns, and pastry sticks to go with the mousse. The choux will be crisped in the oven before being filled with cream cheese and ham spread. I'll fill the cream horns and frost the cupcakes, in between rolling and baking.

I also plan to make a fruit-filled watermelon 'baby carriage', for a centerpiece, and slice cucumber chips for the mousse. My DD volunteered to make individual hummus and veggie cups, and the lemonade.

It's almost time to roll out the puff pastry again, and I just noticed that the battery icon on my laptop has a red X on it, as if it isn't charging. I hope the power outage didn't fry my battery--this might be the last time you hear from me for a while. :[

I baked a loaf of banana nut bread. But nothing like mamagoose.....a fruit filled baby carriage! WOW! WOW! WOW!

For Sunday dinner dessert I am making a blackberry Summer Torte. It was posted on the Cooking Forum a few years ago.

I made a clean-out-the-refrigerator crustless quiche today. I would rather have eaten Mama Goose's pastries. Those sound so delicious.

I made a strawberry pie. I think Ill go have a slice!

Orange cake with chocolate frosting... made by my son. I cooked, he baked.

This is rather anti-climatic, but since my son-in-law used his phone to take pics, I don't know when he'll put them on my laptop. DD brought some leftovers home on my serving trays, and brought the watermelon for the compost pile. Here is a pic of the egg puffs and cupcakes*, with a lonely little cream horn. She said the cream horns were the hit of the party, as well as the salami/pepper jack roll-ups (each tied with a blade of garlic chives), I forgot to mention earlier, because they were so simple. Note to self: Don't spend hours making filled pate a choux, when people just want plain salami and cheese.
