Comments (528)Great blooms! Love the color of perfumery, Beth and now I want Purple Lodge after seeing Sheila's and John's pics. Bella di Todi is giving me some large blooms now - the fragrance is wonderful and I'm loving the buttery coloring. Fragonard took its time putting down roots but in the past week or two it has put on a lot of growth and is just starting to bloom. Bella di Todi...See MoreSome characteristics of some Ludwig's roses
Comments (8)Nat, I have Candice which I love, love, love. I have her in a pot (24 inch in diameter) and so far she is happy in it. Since she is less than a year old, I don't know how big she will get. It gets hot, hot, hot here in the summer. Not Phoenix hot but close. I give her some afternoon shade based upon where she is in my yard. She just bloomed non-stop all summer. Funny, I can't recall a fragrance or not. Right now, I have a horrid cold, so I can't smell anything and my brain is foggy! I find her petals are more pink in the heat and more creamy yellow in the cold. I can't recall thickness or not. So far, she has stayed a nice size bush but again, I have only had her less than a year or so. So she still is a baby. Hope that helps. Her flowers are amazing! She is like three roses in one. Apricot centers, pink stripes on the outside. Gorgeous! I think people are sick of me displaying her blooms but she is incredible and unusual. She also lasts much longer than a DA rose in a vase. Great rose. I am hoping that next year, perhaps Ludwigs will have Never Ending Story. Another beauty! I don't have Roberto C. I do, however have another Barni rose, Occhi di Fata which I love. We don't grow enough Barni roses here in the US. Great roses. Those have have Roberto just love him. Beautiful rose....See MoreMoonlight In Paris aka Garden and Home
Comments (41)Mine are 2-3.5 inches. The difference is from the ones that are in clusters versus singly, and more deeply cupped versus more open, possibly due to the sun. I'm hoping mine get as large as 4 inches as well! I usually see the pink color in fall/winter blooms. In the spring, they start a blush pink in the center and open to a white and cream color. Lots of thrips right now, but they don't look too bad if I peel away the damaged petals....See MoreNeed help choosing a lilac
Comments (3)yeah.. color is subjective .... if there was some nearby display garden.. maybe in may you could visit to see them in person ... the one thought i had was.. plant then close to each other.. so you have both flowers interspersed ... one color to the left .. mixed in the middle.. and the other color on the right .... it would be an oddity to taste.. but it might be real cool ... who knows ... to each his own ... of course.. they would need to be close in size.. and the same bloom period ... its so state of the art ... i cant find a pic .. lol ... ken...See MoreJasminerose, California, USDA 9b/Sunset 18
