I think that everybody, including me, views this as a decision that only you can make. Pick the one YOU like.

yeah.. color is subjective ....

if there was some nearby display garden.. maybe in may you could visit to see them in person ...

the one thought i had was.. plant then close to each other.. so you have both flowers interspersed ... one color to the left .. mixed in the middle.. and the other color on the right .... it would be an oddity to taste.. but it might be real cool ... who knows ... to each his own ...

of course.. they would need to be close in size.. and the same bloom period ...

Thank you Lisa and Ken! My apologies for responding so late! My garden kept me busy for the last one month and I forgot about my post :(

@Ken I had a similar thought to what you proposed... plant them close together to create a blend-in or merging sort of look. I just need to find the right combination! I have seen a few lilacs around my area while doing evening walks... I’ll check them out next spring. Fingers crossed I can see those varieties.
