B.M. Revere Pewter near Rich cream room?
Comments (0)I've sampled over 20 colors, and the color that looks best with all the elements in our great room is B.M. Revere Pewter. However, most of the downstairs is painted rich cream, which is somewhat yellow. Painting the rest of the house is not an option. The kitchen, downstairs hall, and upstairs hall are all visible from the room. (The ceiling is vaulted.) There are no shared walls in the great room though. I go back and forth as to whether the two colors can be used near each other. We don't want to go with a tan, gold or beige, and want something very neutral. My style is traditional, and a bit formal. Trim is Dover white throughout the house. Any thoughts?...See MoreBM Revere Pewter is looking blue- is it just me?
Comments (35)This happened to me too! Painted poster boards and moved them around the room to make sure I loved the color before painting the entire living/dining room. I did everything I was supposed to, and after two coats it was BABY BLUE!!! I was so upset. But then I held up the paint chip white dove (OC-17) to our trim, and our trim was YELLOW!!! I'd bet your trim isn't white, but rather a yellow or darker cream. Here's a pic. Same color, revere pewter, different trim. The trim on the right is white dove. The trim on the left is old, yellowed oil based trim of unknown name....See MoreColor palette with BM Revere Pewter
Comments (9)I'm very excited to getting around to painting my bedroom this weekend. Need to decide on trim paint colors. I have decided on BM Revere Pewter for the wall color and a 50/50 cut on the tray. My questions are: 1. Do I do the bottom of the tray, inside edge and ceiling all with the 50/50 cut? 2. What trim color if I don't want it to look to dirty? I have a lot of Simply White leftover from my bathroom but I think that may be too crisp of a white with RP. I appreciate all your suggestions!...See MoreBM Revere Pewter or Gray Owl in north facing/low light room
Comments (35)Boy, I can relate to all of these posts. I have RP in my open floor plan. On the walls that have natural light, it looks OK (not my favorite) but the adjoining family room with the screened porch next to it blocking the light, the walls look like green/yellow mud and I am stressing as to what to do. My trim & cabinets are off-white so i have to stay with the warm greys. I've even tried Sea Salt which looks dull. I'm going for an LRV of 65+ so I'm trying the sample board with the Repose Gray at 75% with the idea of the adjoining kitchen/nook at 100%. We will see. Next I'll try the Gray Owl - OC 52 i think. Beware.......there are two Gray Owls! The Oc 52 is the lighter version. To complicate matters, I have a beautiful silver gray sectional sofa that I'm working with. I appreciate all of the posts here....See MoreRelated Professionals
