Anyone else have a great week?
Comments (40)artteacher, congrats! My DSD got married 2 years ago. It was just terrific and you have a double helping. Just think, you can shop for both dresses at the same time! LOL. Maureen, I don't want to invite myself and cause you any stress. We just started having guests (finally enough furniture) and I'm so exhausted when they leave I wonder why I invited them and always think I'd never do it again. So I always hesitate to do it to someone else (my DH complains about the cleaning up before hand). I had no idea you were a molten lava virgin. We can fix that. It's all about the egg whites. I have the Vongerichten recipe somewhere (he invented the dang thing though some people think Sol did) In fact we Just got back from D.C. today -- down with DH on business overnight. But he won't go to museums or houses so I was wondering if anyone had a hankering to go to National Gallery to see the furniture and to Wintherthur. Maybe we could do a mini meet up/excursion though I fear Ivette will land in the hospital if she has one more thing on her plate. Didn't Pamela have some family illness? I seem to remember that. Could be why she's MIA....See MoreTransition days...anyone else have issues?
Comments (14)"Well my son has become picky now..so it must be a boy thing." It totally could be a boy thing! I think for SS some of it is just getting used to eating a certain way w/BM and then having to switch over to our menu. After having been with BM for 10 of the last 14 days, he wasn't adjusted to our food yet. He's in camp this week and the lunch I packed for him was NOT a hit b/c he's used to BM or grandma's lunches. When he came home on Wed, his trash was all in his lunchbox, and some of the food was leftover---I was shocked to see the lunch. A ham sandwich, which is fine, and he had eaten most of it. Then a Hi-C drink, which isn't great since it's just pure sugar. A fruit roll-up wrapper. Half-eaten bag of king-sized M & Ms. And a pop-tart wrapper. ????? So the lunch I packed---and this is very typical what the kids eat at our house for lunch--I packed him a PB&J on whole wheat bread. Fresh blueberries. Small stack of low-fat Pringles. Apple & Eve 100% juice box. And two fig newtons. I just try to keep things balanced---I am totally fine w/the kids having "junk food" so long as it's in moderation. I don't mind them having a small serving of chips or cookies w/lunch, esp. when it's a packed lunch for camp, but I make sure that there is ALWAYS a fruit w/it, and that the treats I pack aren't *too* bad! Anyway, SS didn't eat a bite of the sandwich b/c he doesn't like wheat bread, he wanted white, which is what BM buys. But he DOES eat wheat over here all the time, we never buy white---I guess he had just grown accustomed to BM's food. He didn't eat the blueberries and didn't eat the fig newtons either. So I guess he had Pringles for lunch yesterday. oh well. He will re-adjust---haha, just in time to go back to BM's, and then we will start all over again when he gets back!...See MoreDoes anyone else second guessing every decision??
Comments (34)ccoombs1, as all of the above posters have said, you are not alone! DH and I have been going back and forth for months about wood or tile on the kitchen floor, we've decided wood for the past few months, DH installed the sheets of plywood on the kitchen floor to prep for wood floors...and now, after the cabinets and counters are installed, we've decided to go with tile! The primary paint color for the interior...well, let's just say I bought 13 different colors and tried them in different areas before I decided on a color! Then I went ahead and faux finished right over the color, so it changed the end color anyway...but I love it so I'm happy. :) I've gotten better about decision-making as things have progressed, thankfully. Call me crazy, but now I have this little designer voice that speaks to me and she's a big help in my decision-making! When I spotted my granite slabs, she told me in 2 minutes that these were IT. She helped me pick colors for all the other rooms and bathrooms in the house without having to order quart samples first. Hmmm...maybe as minac says, "she" is my coping mechanism? :p...See MoreFall Clothes Shopping....anyone else tired of all the drab?
Comments (40)Too funny Kswl! All solids? I've never really thought about that but I wear a ton of prints, florals, stripes, etc. I do love my solids to wear my scarves with. I love scarves and wear them often in cooler weather. I have a couple of gauzy ones I will wear in spring/summer. If I don't have a scarf on I will more than likely have on a funky necklace. One thing I will note, I do not wear black up against my face. Too stark and washes me out. I do not wear yellows, oranges (I HATE orange but love a pinky coral), browns, mossy greens, etc. (earth tones) other than some shades of brown pants. Thankfully those colors do not look good on me. I don't use them in our home either! Lynn, I had my colors done years ago and I am a winter. I don't think black is drab at all. It's fashionable! But of course, it makes a difference what you wear with your black....See MoreRelated Professionals
