Where do you get your adjustable bed sheets?
Comments (7)I am using the Wamsutta Pinpoint 360 from BedBath&beyond. I was able to buy the sheets individually, so I was able to buy the 2 - twin extra long fitted sheets, and then the regular king top sheet and king pillowcases. BB&B was the ONLY store in Tulsa, OK that carried the twin x-long in individual sheets. In stock. I have never had the corners slip of the mattresses. Ever. The elastic around them is cheap, and not snug, but like I said, they have never slipped off the beds. They are percale sheets though. I had always slept on sateen sheets so it was a HUGE change for me. For about a month and a half, I was miserable every night. I couldn't sleep on those scratchy, noisy, sandpaper sheets! I was near tears several times. They were the only sheets I had so I HAD to use them. But then one day, they were great. I don't know if it was me or the sheets, but one of us changed and now I love them and will never go back to sateen sheets again. By the way, I wash my sheets at least weekly and NEVER use fabric softener, yuk! They are also the only set of sheets we have for our bed. I hate folding sheets, so I like to just wash and them put them back on the bed. One day I will get a new set (hopefully get to try the sferra brand) and these will become my "emergency" sheets. On a side note, I bought the mattress protectors at Dillards. They fit the mattresses perfect. The elastic around them is much better than the sheets by Wamsutta. And the best thing about the mattress protectors, they are MADE IN THE USA! The dillards website said they were imported, but the tags on both mattress pads stated they were made in the USA. I did buy them at the store since I was lucky they were in stock!...See Morelooking for Linen sheets someone here reccomended
Comments (20)I have two sets of linen sheets. Actually I just have one set and one top sheet. I never use them any more. I do have the Eileen Fisher sheets from GH, which are nice but I am just not willing to iron my sheets and they are SO wrinkly coming out of the wash. And I'm finding that I just don't love the feel of linen sheets. The fitted sheet especially -- I have an extra-deep mattress plus a pillow top, and the EF fitted sheet is still a bit big, and as you sleep on it, the linen stretches a bit and the fitted sheet gets baggy. Then it feels like you're just sleeping on a loose sheet! Very weird. The other sheet I have is from Restoration Hardware, which seems slightly less wrinkly, probably because it weighs 150 pounds! The one sheet is ridiculously heavy. So that's my (limited) review of linen sheets. I had slept in a fabulous hotel bed that had linen sheets, and I thought I'd love them and that they'd fit well with my slightly bohemian bedding assortment, but I am not a big fan anymore. And yes, obviously sheets are all about personal preference....See Morecheap belarus flax linen sheet sets on ebay and etsy
Comments (6)I decided to sew my own set!!!! and I love them! I found a local fabric store that imports 100% flax linen from Eastern Europe. Their linen fabric looked just like the ones shown on ebay and etsy. Got to touch and choose the weight- went with a heavyweight and it was a better price per yard! Prewashed- lots of lint! And got to sewing two king size flat sheet and two pillow cases, apron, bath and hand towels:) To center seam or not to center seam....decided to keep the selvedge and used that to sew the center seam- less chance of fraying. I figure after lots of wear and tear, once the sheet gets thin, I can remove the center seam, flip the sides, resew and have a "new sheet" as the outer sides of the sheet never wear. Its been a few months and regular washings. I managed to line dry twice but mostly used my dryer in medium or low, low when I remember. I bought extra fabric to make the extra stuff but ended up staying on budget....See Moreex. long twin linen or split king bed linen
Comments (4)I have a split-king Sleep Number where the "twins" can be raised or lowered at both the head and the feet, with motion, too. So far, I've only purchased the Sleep Number fitted sheets because I bought several sets on sale. The Sleep Number brands have a separate extra band of elastic that stretches diagonally across each corner, in addition to fitted corners. Regular fitted sheets don't come with that band of elastic. However, if you have a sewing machine, you could attach your own band of elastic to non-SN fitted sheets. For sizing of the twin, you want Twin XL or Twin Long, depending on the wording of the brand of sheets. For top sheets, blankets, duvet covers, coverlets, etc. I buy regular King size from any store....See MoreAmeliaD Dunst
