What do you store in your lazy susan?
Comments (23)In my old kitchen, I had a "lazy susan" (the one w/the center pole). I stored all my pots & pans, colanders, and several serving pieces in it. I had no difficulty getting anything out of it. Just turn the susan and what you need is right there in front of you. Ours had the door attached to the shelves so they rotated inside. It was a "standard" 36" susan...that means it took up 36" on each wall. The "back" wall of our susan conformed to the shape of the shelves and had just enough room for the shelves to clear (1/8", maybe). There was no way anything was going to fall off of it on the inside! BTW...a "super susan" does not have the center pole. I really wanted another one in my new kitchen...this time to hold all my small appliances. However, I made the mistake of suggesting to my DH that we create a "Pet Center" in the corner instead and immediately lost the susan! I now store my small appliances in my small pantry. While they all fit, they do take up almost 2 shelves...I really wish I had that susan!...See Moredining room furniture is IN, help decorate the room, please!
Comments (92)trish-I hope you see this, you posted almost a week ago, I have not been on these boards for a few days! Can you PLEASE take a picture of the furniture and post it? I am dying to see it in another setting. Do you think the DR set was in the house originally? What year was your house built? What color are the seats...and are they the same at your neighbor's house across the street? Where do you live? Ok, so my DH actually had possession of *HIS* dining room set, that was exactly like MINE...up until the mid nineties. His mom had saved it (parents are divorced). He tried to sell it at one point, and refinshed the top and spruced it up nicely. I think he was asking 1k for the whole set...hutch, table, chairs...and he had NO ONE buy it. They would come, look, offer him 200 bucks, he just couldn't (wouldn't, I suppose, LOL) sell it at that price. Then again, this was BEFORE the internet. He didn't reach too many potential buyers with his ad in the paper. I was kind of happy, cuz I said, "Good, let's keep it for the extra chairs and leaf and just store the rest of it!" His office has a warehouse/storage area, so that's why I considered it...I am not a believer in paying good money to store more "things." But since it is available, we do it sometimes. Well, at this time, his dad did not have a DR table so DH just put it there to keep it, and so his dad would have a table. A few months later, one of his sisters moved in, brought her own stuff...and GAVE AWAY the hutch and two end chairs...and PUT THE TABLE OUT BY THE CURB FOR BULK PICKUP! *fanning self* I was LIVID! I still talk about it to this day, but my DH keeps saying, "Let it go, honey!!" I think he is mad too, but also embarrassed. SO...remember...just a few years ago, I saw this table for sale on a grocery store bulletin board, and the whole set with hutch was in the $200 range...maybe $250? It really is heavy duty, solid wood. BUT...apparently very common and mass produced! I would just like to know a little more about it. I cannot find any name on it as to who made it, where it is from originally, etc. BTW...his sister moved out a few months later, and once again, DH''s dad was left with no table. *sigh*...See MoreDining table lazy susan design, does it go with the rest of the room
Comments (16)Hi, was wondering does anyone have thoughts on the mosaic mirror. Will it look too much mosaic if I decide to go with the mosaic pattern on the lazy susan? Though I am leaning towards painting it for now, as its much easier. Also will the round mirror look too much round shapey with the round table and round lazy susan. I have also been looking at this copper lazy susan from wayfair (this would save me time, to buy ready made). Would it look nice with the wooden table. Its the right size (30"). Most of the other glass ones I have seen are smaller (24")....See MoreSuggestions for adding greenery and other decor to mantle?
Comments (55)Try putting the vase with the red berries to the right of the picture on the right over the bookcase. It looks as though it's going to topple off the mantel. Please, no to the mirror and wreath, that's been so overdone. I like the left side with two frames on the bookcases, just leave them there and don't hang them up. The right side will be balanced out with one picture and the vase with the berries. Remove the clock and put the two candlesticks on the right and the one on the left, and let's see what that looks like....See MoreRelated Professionals
