Comments (7)I personally love the New Executive cookware from the Pampered Chef. So I guess it would be the Pampered Chef. Yes you have to go through a consultant, but if she has a website you can order 24/7/354. Cheaper is not always better. I value the qualities of the cookware and the company. When investing in cookware I look for piece of mind and a company that I can get a hold of. I am a huge cook and I want cookware that last a lifetime.... The Pampered Chef Executive Line was just what I am looking for. It has a lifetime guarantee, oven safe upto 400^, soft-grip handles, hard anodized aluminuim reinforced titanium alloy, Autograph 2 nonstick coating on the inside & out, dripless pouring rims, flat bottoms, and is thick gauged. Just keep you receipt so that, should a problem arise call the 888 # and talk with a live person in CS.... Comments (9)Well, after I've looked for a solid month for the Member's Mark or Costco tri-clad sets made by Tramontina, I have finally given up. There are two Tramontina lines that have 13-piece sets, one sells online for $500 -600 and the other is sold by Wal-Mart for about $140. There is no way that these could be comparable in quality with such a big difference in price point, is there? I've looked at the local TJ Maxx stores, Marshall's, etc., but the All-Clad is still very pricey and hard-to-find in my affluent area. I ended up buying a Surla-branded set on sale from SurLaTable, 9 pieces with comfortable-looking riveted handles and a lifetime guarantee. Free shipping and no sales tax for $299. I am supplementing this with a Tramontina 8- quart stockpot with pasta insert from Wal-Mart's website for $60 (no big investment there). Hopefully I will be pleased with my purchase. Comments (5)Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials. And how smart you are making this inquiry! You can't go wrong with All-Clad, but it's very pricey. IMHO, it's not worth the money. You can't go wrong with the private brands from either Costco or Sam's Club. My Sam's club set is tri-ply and does a beautiful job with whatever I'm cooking. The Costco set has a 5-ply bottome, but it doesn't go up the sides. Regardless, it has wonderful reviews. Go see the sets for yourself, paying particular attention to the weight and balance of the pans. Check out the prices for Le Creuset on Amazon. I have the 5- and 7 1/2 quart round Dutch ovens. (If I were to purchase them now, I would opt for the oval shape. It's more versatile.) Comments (17)I can't stand non-stick for most stuff. It can't be used on high heat. You have to use those plastic utensils, which I can't stand. Give me a good, thin metal spatula over one of those any day. It's just too delicate, non-stick. I think I have one non-stick pan, and it serves it's purpose (mainly for my husband, when he makes an omelet), but I have other pans that get used many, many times over before that one does. I love Stainless steel, as long as it has some heat-conduting metal in the bottom (and up the sides, if you want to pay for it-ie. All Clad), which so far all I have seen of it does. I have a few sizes of stock pots, ranging from 6 quart to 32 quart. I have a set of All-Clad that came with my cook-top. I like it, and for the most part, they chose handy sizes. Most of my pans are a hodge-podge. Cast Iron, I have a wok and a skillet I use a lot. Lots of Stainless. Some of them are close in size to the All-Clad. I bought them at TJ Maxx and the like, very reasonably priced I thought, because I didn't really want my DH using the All Clad. He has a tendency to forget he is cooking (!) and once actually melted the aluminum bottom of a pan to the stove. My favorite small skillet is just a little steel one. Things don't stick to it hardly at all, and it is just the right size for a single grilled cheese, or a scrambled egg or two. It gets used almost daily. As far as cleaning...If you get stainless steel, some are "stickier" than others. For those, I just put some water in it while it is warm (or put it on low, with water in it) while I eat, and when I come back, the food is soft, and easy to clean off. You should sit and eat with your family. :) When you are done, you can get them to help you clean! I also want to add...Anyone thinking of all-clad with the long handles (frying pan) should hold a pan with some weight in it before they buy. I find the handles to be uncomfortable, as do some other people. We must hold it differently from the people who like the handles. My grandmother always cleaned while we ate, then she would sit down at the end of the meal and try to get everyone to eat more, in spite of the fact that we had been eating while she cleaned and were full!
