I love the concept, but I might eventually repot this bonsai pot for other succulents, maybe for my jade. I think it needs a good soaking. It is trying to conserve moisture and is dropping old leaves. If you are unsure, stick a long toothpick or wooden kebab skewer deep into the soil and leave it overnight. Pull it out tomorrow, and if it doesn't feel dampish, you should water. It is possible your soil is compacted into a hard mass which water cannot soak into. When you water, watch if the water comes out the drainage holes immediately or if it actually soaks into the soil. If it pours out immediately, immerse the whole pot in a deep tray of water and let it soak for a few hours. Then use the wooden skewer to determine when it needs to be watered again. The purple colour is likely from the high light levels. happy growing! Breton

The second plant is a pansy! When you change the soil to a grittier mix please also make the mix much higher up in the pot, it's been planted far too low down. If you place a layer of gravel on top of the mix it helps prevent the lower leaves from touching the soil and rotting. The lowest leaves over time will still dry up and fall off, as long as they look and feel like crisps this is the normal process, but they shouldn't go soft and mushy....that's not normal. You could separate the two rosettes and get two plants from it. The pansy would be best planted in a sunny spot outside as it won't do very well indoors, and as mentioned, it's definitely not a succulent and find it a very odd combination to offer for sale, but then they're only after a sale aren't they? Water thoroughly when dry. Let water run out the bottom holes. Never by tablespoons. You can tell when they need water by inserting a wooden skewer for a few minutes. When you remove it, if it’s damp, don’t water. As for the third pic, I suspect the pot is too big for them, and they should be potted a little higher if you are able to repot in a smaller container. The recommended soil mix here is commercial cactus and succulent potting mix combined 50-50 with perlite available from your nursery. You are on a good start with your succulents. I suggest you take time to read many other threads here, and you will learn a lot. Also there are some good YouTube videos. I like Debra Baldwin, another is Sunshine and Succulents.
