Tree Roses -Same area---3 doing Great, 3 Not! what's going on??
Comments (11)Well Thank-you so much for the words of advice! Jim, the soil was tested before we planted the vineyard back in Feb. 2005. We amended to all the specifications, and the vineyard is THRIVING. still. The soil here is mostly clay, and we've had a VERY WET spring. The entire area is covered with pathway mulch (wood shavings/chunks), and does drain pretty well in the areas in question. (no standing water, unless its pouring). But the 3 happy (west side) trees probably get more aft. direct sun. As I've noticed the 3 poor performers, I've watered occasionally. Maybe I'm making it worse by doing that, eh? So, hold off on the fertilizer Jaxondel, even though they were 2 yr. olds when planted in Feb? thanks again....See MoreAnother rose id question please, beautiful pink cascading roses
Comments (21)Well, I don't know. I looked at both those roses on Help Me Find and I guess it could be. Maybe there was something about the way this GW member grew this rose or pruned it that gave it a little different look to it. And the color of the rose on the arbor seems a little coral to me, but that could just be the camera or the light. Thanks for the help. :-)...See MoreMagenta Clem to go with Pink Bonica rose
Comments (2)I googled all three and naturally there was some color variation within each variety, but would it be fair to make the following generalizations about their colors: 1. Ville de Lyon - the most true "magenta" or pink of the three. 2. Rouge Cardinal - has more blue or purple tints than the other two. 3. Ernest Markham - redder than the other two....See MoreNeed Pink(Rose)-Gray color for little girls victorian room
Comments (5)Thanks for the replies so far. I looked these up online to get an idea, but I am going to write them all down to look at the paint store. (I live about 40 minutes from the Benjamin Moore paint store) I think the Sherwin Williams Queen Anne Lilac is really neat. It almost seems to go from pink to purple, which would work with what I am doing. I will have to hit the Sherwin Williams store also to see if it has too much tan and not enough gray. I have found some beautiful purples with the gray tone, but the pink is hard to find with gray in it. Thank you everyone for your suggestions, and please keep them coming. My three year old daughter knows she doesn't want these white walls much longer!...See MoreCivil Servant (Zone 5)
