I work as a blogger for businesses although I do a variety of different types of writing. I particularly enjoy writing about all aspects of design and creativity. I think that your home should reflect your personality and that it should change as you change. More about me at www.kathrynvercillo.com and http://diaryofasmartchick.com.

Roses can be added to home design to enhance the femininity of the space where you reside. Live roses bring their fragrance and flowering beauty to your yard or a vase inside of your home. Rose designs on pillows and art pieces bring a burst of prettiness into your home with a bit less hassle than live flowers require. And then there are design pieces, like rosettes and even more contemporary designs, which take their cues from roses but aren't quite as overt and therefore offer a subtler sort of femininity to your home.
Roses are great pieces to add to home design in part because of the variety of colors they are available in. Most people use red or pink roses in their decor which brings a burst of beautiful bold color to the home. However you can use white roses, yellow roses or dyed roses to add different moods to the space when you add flowers there.
Roses are also great because you don't have to have a lot of them to create a grand effect in your home. Accent pieces are fine for achieving the effect you desire. However you can also go all out with roses to create a unique pattern or look for your house.
In other words, you have a lot of options with roses. Let's explore some of the choices ...

In other words, you have a lot of options with roses. Let's explore some of the choices ...
The most traditional method of adding roses to your home is, of course, to plant a rose bush in the front yard. This welcomes people in to your yard and tells them that you like beautiful things. The home itself doesn't have to be feminine in design for this touch of femininity to work well.
Another great place to add live roses to your home is on the back porch. You can have rose bushes out there or you can put rose centerpieces on your backyard picnic table like we see here.
Notably roses can be combined with many different flowers in your garden to create different visual textures and patterns. Choose your favorite color palette and sprinkle roses amidst other plants to make it work in your yard.
What if you don't have a lot of space for a yard filled with roses? Perhaps you might consider setting up a rooftop garden like the one we see here which may include roses to bring that wonderful scent to your urban home.
If you can't grow your own live roses then your next best bet is to get fresh cut roses on a regular basis. The bold pink ones here really brighten up this kitchen and make it a wonderful place to call home!
If cut flowers aren't quite your thing then perhaps some flowery art would work best in your home. I adore this simple but gorgeous framed rose image. Set against the pink wall it's particularly feminine but it would work against a wall in almost any color depending on the effect you wanted to have.
Accessories throughout the home can have rose decorations on them. Pillows are one of the best accessories for this. Small pillows are somewhat feminine already and roses really add that nice little touch.
As you can see here, rose pillows can be set against almost any other background. Create wonderful patterns and make the whole room work with a solid color foundation like the white seen here.
The design of the rose doesn't have to be as obvious as the examples that we've seen before. Rosettes are a highly popular design that date all the way back to ancient Greece. These ones are decorative rosettes that hang on the wall. The shape and the pale yellow color are feminine but not excessively so.
Take a close look at the fireplace and you will see rosette designs pinning the fireplace to the wall. This is an example of a slight pretty touch that doesn't scream "girls' house"!
If you're interested in more contemporary design then you might like to choose a fireplace such as this one. The design is based on the way that the petals of a rose overlap and open up but you don't necessarily see "roses" when you look at the room. That's a neat contemporary twist on roses in home design.
