What height should I install my Toilet/Bathroom Grab Bar?

I just bought a heavy weight u shape grab bar with thick mount. My question is how high should I setting to meet every family member's need? IBAMA Fold-Up Grab Bar Dimensions: 23.6*3.9 inch/600*100 mm L*W.

There is no set height for a grab bar. It's what would be comfortable/useful for height of toilet and height of users.

Here's the NKBA recommendation for grab bars around a toilet. it looks like you should start with 33-36inches above finished floor.

Your set-up, incl small size looks like ours. Be careful if you hang a bar or ring on the wall to the left of the sink. We were going to hang one there in the MB, but the towel would have hung over/ into the sink (we didn't want to hang it extra high). Here's what we did. It works for me (DH uses the other bathroom). Not the ideal location, I admit, but not too many options. Window on opposite wall, with a door that would cover most of the towel bar if we did hang it under the window.

The plastic wall anchors protect the tile from the screw. The wall screws bite into solid wood as do the curb screws. Each plate has three holes and they are set in a triangular fashion. I pulled pretty hard on the grab bar the day after it was set and it's solid. My client is not going to pull it out. Not at a Buck 40 in weight. A floor to ceiling bar might have worked in this case but would not have looked as nice as a custom grab bar. We wanted some style and safety.

If it ain't broke and you don't need the latest style I'd just put it back. The valves and flappers fail in all toilets over time, there's no reason to replace the whole thing to repair those problems. If you needed to go to a lower flow, or had one of the '90's toilets that never actually worked that would be a different story. All that said, I'm very impressed with the new Toto's we put in our house. Not very expensive, work perfectly, refill quickly and quietly.

Let in blocking uses half lap joints in both the studs and 2x6 (always 2x6) horizontal blocking material to allow the blocking to be on the same plane as the studs. Its the most secure type. It’s all glued and screwed together. You’ll have about 5” of very secure target space into which to attach your grab bars. Let in blocking can bear very large weights. Which is why it’s the recommended choice over toenailed blocking. This is standard toenailed blocking, not let in blocking. The AARP has a free pamphlet on aging in place that includes illustrations of let in blocking, but I’m not at home currently to access my files. Certified Aging in Place Specialist.

It depends. The "rules" ie above post do not work if those using it are not 'average' height. If the person who really needs it is 5', it would go lower than if they were 6'6".

33'36 inches would put it practically at the level of my armpit as I'm 5'2 but with over half my height in leg length.

Who is going to use it? have them sit on the throne, while you place it at 33" and see how that works for them, then adjust.
