Where should I place the hand towel bar in this small bathroom??

Martha stewart has a seal Harbor hand towel holder to match vanity but it's massive.

I need same finish as sink (brushed nickel).

here is one of her towel bars that I was thinking between sink and toilet but that seems a little, you know... The depth is 2.98, 6.29:

Here is the other vanity-matching hand towel that I'm thinking of placing to left of mirror but then left side of that wall will appear so heavy compared to right. The depth is 3.29, width 20.99 inches.

I can look for something else, since I think the holder portion of towel rack juts out a little too far, but her brushed nickel is not the same shade that I've seen in stores.

There's only one place you can put it....that's on the wall to the left of the sink. And I would not use a ring or bar, but mount s board, with a beveled edge and put a brushed nickle robe hook on it.....amybe make the board longer and put 2 hooks. And don't hang it too high....nothing I like less than reaching for a towel and having the water run down my arm!!

Whichever you choose, I would put it on the wall to the left of the sink. You can always balance things out with a shelf or artwork over the toilet. I agree that the dimensions of the towel bar sound pretty big for that space.

I really like the mirror. Where did you get that, please?

We had two towel bars when we first moved here. The first went about 4 years ago when we replaced the bathroom window and had to go a little bit larger. We relocated the two towels that hung on that bar to hooks on the back of the door. We lost the second towel bar about 2 years ago because the towels just weren't drying on the back of the door. I came up with the idea of using hooks. We had a piece of pine here and I just had DH screw the board into the wall and mount 4 hooks on it. I haven't regretted once! Much easier to deal with and the kids can actually hang their own towels!

The towels look good hanging on the hooks, but it might help to see the actual hooks you're using. Teacats, I love the pictures in your bathroom. This mornings Gordman's ad shows the pictures of the ladies in dresses. The bathroom we're redoing is the main bath for the house and it seems to be on the formal side. I never know how rooms are going to end up they just seem to evolve during the remodeling process. It's really fun to see all these beautiful bathrooms, though. I love seeing all the different design styles!

Where to hang towel bar for hand towels?

The hand towels in my guest bathroom / powder room get very wet. I think my teen son uses them to wash his face. I plan to remodel my son's bathroom next year. The first picture below is of my remodeled guest bathroom. In this room, the toilet is next to the vanity, so side of vanity was obvious place to hang TP holder, not a towel. Contractor was reluctant to hang the towel bar on the wall because the towels cover the electrical outlet. In my master bathroom, I have no towel bars, so hand towels sit on the counter. The layout in my son's room is more like the "By the Bay" Houzz photo above, there will be space for a towel bar on either the right-side side of the vanity or on the wall to the left (as in the "Art House" Houzz photo). But ... I'm thinking about keeping a medicine cabinet on the wall, so would be crowded to add a towel bar here, as in second photo below, taken at an open house in my area.

Thanks for all the ideas. I will definitely be using some of them in one of the bathrooms I'm redoing. I had a brainstorm yesterday where I install an appliance door pull as a small hand towel rack on the front of an open shelf on my vanity. It won't be resting against a wood door, and it will be next to the sink. At least that's my idea for now.

lindac. Sounds like a great idea, though I'm not sure what you mean by a board. Can you direct me to any pics?

Another vote for putting it to the left of the sink. Otherwise, you'll have water drips on the floor and toilet every time someone reaches for the towel.

If you do use a ring, get an open ended top so you can just slide them on rather than have to push it through the hole. I put mine on the left side also.

Your set-up, incl small size looks like ours. Be careful if you hang a bar or ring on the wall to the left of the sink. We were going to hang one there in the MB, but the towel would have hung over/ into the sink (we didn't want to hang it extra high). Here's what we did. It works for me (DH uses the other bathroom).

Not the ideal location, I admit, but not too many options. Window on opposite wall, with a door that would cover most of the towel bar if we did hang it under the window.

I don't like rings and didn't have room for a long towel bar so I used a toilet paper holder as the towel bar. It works well. I also use wash cloths instead of hand towels. When we have a large number of guests, I set out a dozen rolled towels (wash cloths) with a basket for the used ones. An idea I stole from a safari camp in Africa. :) I attached a photo.

I also use TP holders for towel bars, the kind that are open on one end. Like the TP holder in Cat Mom's second picture. I fold the hand towel in thirds, and it fits perfectly.

I have a similiar set up and I hung a towel ring to the left of the sink. I am also considering hanging a towel rack over the toilet. I will link to the type I am considering.

I had a 1 by 4 cut to the dimension and the edges beveled, painted the trim color and hung 5 hooks on it for bath towels and another 2 just 4 inches square with beveled edges one by the shower for the bath mat and another by the sink for the hand towel. the reason for mounting the hooks on a board is so the towel will hang away from the wall and dry well.
