HELP! - got electrical shock touching stove chassis when off
Comments (2)If you de-power the range by turning off its circuit breaker, then test, the sensor should show no voltage present. Then pull all of the top heating coils and re-power the range. If the sensor indicates that there is no longer a voltage present, then it would seem that a coil has an insulation breakdown inside. You can replace all coils if they are all old, or re-install them one at a time, making runs to the breaker before and after, to find the bad one. Always check with the sensor before handling the range to avoid the consequences of mistakes in breaker use. If the voltage remains with the coils removed and the stove powered, then there is likely a breakdown somewhere within the stove and a professional repair is called for. This could lead to a call for an electrician. Older stoves used neutral for a ground path, and if the neutral to ground bond in the breaker box is not good, the stove shell voltage can float above ground. What concerns me most about this is that the shell should still have been more or less grounded and the voltage present too low to light the sensor. A coil insulation breakdown should trigger the breaker to OFF or blow away the internal short. So after the cause of leakage is fixed, a means of grounding the stove should be addressed. kas...See MoreWhen Dogs Do Their Jobs: Funny Stories, Touching Stories
Comments (10)As everyone knows, beagles make excellent watch dogs and really horrible guard dogs. A man and his 3 or 4 year old son were walking by down our alley. My beagle started braying and spiking up because they had stopped to look at her. We went out and the man was laughing at her, and so was the kid. He asked his kid if he wanted to see the puppy and picked the kid up. Well as soon as the kid was up higher and she could see him better, she bolted. She was terrified. Came to stand behind my legs and bark and shake with her tail between her legs. The man and his son left, and I'll be darned if she didn't spend the rest of the night trying to 'track' the man and his son. She kept going back to the spot where they stood, sniffing the fence and following it all the way to where it meets the neighbors fence, over and over. I can't help but laugh at her, cause I know if she ever finds anything she's been trying to track, she'll tuck her tail and run the other way. She'd be the worst hunting beagle ever, I think. But she tries to do her job, thats for sure....See MoreDWTS....Shocking, shocking, shocking
Comments (39)I, for one, liked the way that Maks was "touchy feely" with Kirstie. Why? Because when a woman is that age and overweight, especially when the woman is famous and used to be stunningly beautiful with a stunningly fabulous body, she would naturally have some issues with feeling a bit out of place or frumpy next to the professional female dancers and the young, thin, and cute celebrity dancers. Kirstie was doing better and better each and every week, and she was also losing weight and inches each and every week. To me, watching Maks be so "loving" towards her, it was like his confirmation to her that she should be proud of herself and her accomplishments and not feel inferior to anyone. It was an affirmation that she is still beautiful and sexy....See MoreHELP! - got electrical shock touching stove chassis when off
Comments (5)Yes, it is a 3-wire plug (all the 240v in this house - stove, hot water heater, clothes dryer, and wall A/C unit - is 3-wire). So you're telling me that in order to create a 120v circuit for the oven light, clock, etc., it uses one of the two 120v legs, plus the ground as its neutral? And that there is a break in that circuit along the ground/neutral line, so it's using the metal chassis of the stove as its ground/neutral in order to complete the circuit? The internal wiring of the stove with regard to the clock and oven light and what-not is way too involved for me. I'd rather just disable all those 120v features and do without them; I don't ever use them anyhow. How do I go about doing that? I just want the simplest, fastest, easiest way to get my stove to quit shocking me. Thanks....See Moretrancegemini_wa
