Paint too dark for room? (Naval sherwin williams)

I decided I'd like a two tone living room, with a peachy or grey color on top and a navy on the bottom, separated by white trim. I've been testing colors and am having trouble with the navy, I thought naval by sherwin williams would be perfect but it looks black at night and still pretty close to black in the day time if my blinds are down but lights are on. I know that photos and computer screens aren't the best way to tell color, but here are some photos on your computer screen. Naval is the blue closest to the door in the first two photos and closest to the corner in the last. The other blue is Salty Dog, which I feel is too blue/ not navy enough. Looking through my booklet of colors, I just don't know what other color to try. Does anyone know a sherwin william navy paint that might work here?

Update for anyone wondering/ having this problem in the future. I tried Narragansett Navy & long horizon. Both were brighter blue than Salty dog With another coat, salty dog looked more Navy than those and it is what I settled on.

Umm.... pick a different brand of paint if you don't like the SW colors.

Gotta say the grey with a deep blue is going to be really dim, dark and depressing in the room.

The creamy color look better with the blues.

Navy is going to be very dark -look almost black in low light.

Try looking for a deep teal blue.

I never use the SW or even Benjie Moore -- stick with the same paint company my family has used for over 150 years. They specialize in the historic colors - company has been in business for 200 years (oldest paint maker in the US)

If I had to suggest a blue color, I would say Old Village Paint Rittenhouse Blue or Cabinet Maker's Blue.

You can locate the company - Old Village Paint. They make an oil, a buttermilk finish and a latex. Their lightest color will cover anything in one coat. Stuff holds up for years - basically bullet proof. You use less of it - I just did 912 sq ft and only used 2 gallons (they say 400 sq ft/ gal) and it only takes 1 coat.

but I don't want it to be too bright. Melon Green 18-28 from Pratt & Lambert would give you the look of Recycled Glass, just a little more grayed so it's not as bright. If you don't have a Pratt & Lambert retailer nearby, Sherwin-Williams owns Pratt & Lambert so getting P&L color matches from SW almost always works out very well.

A local consult from a designer will be the best money you spend on the project. Colors need to be chosen in the light that they will be viewed, and with the phish all samples of the products right there in front of you. You cannot choose colors online.

Professionally finished cabinets are done in an opaque conversion varnish. Calling that “paint” is like calling your kids go kart an Indy car. Yeah, the’re both open wheel vehicles. No further similarities exist. If this guy doesn’t finish his products in house, with a conversion varnish, you don’t need to use him. Period. Your contractor is a hack by extension of even recommending this route. Professionally Finishing cabinets is 40-60% of the total cost of the cabinets. In other words, what you paid for the cabinets, get ready to write that same check to a pro finisher. Properly Finishing is just as much work as making them. Or more, if you want paint and glaze. Average for a standard 12x12 kitchen, redo, is 7-9K. Bigger kitchens are more. Taller cabinets are more. More details are more. Glazed are more. Islands are always more. Custom colors are more. And that’s with the doors done off site in a clean room, as they should be. All brand new cabinets should be coated in a clean room with a conversion varnish, by the maker, or his specialty finisher. See why I say he is a hack woodworker? A true custom cabinet maker controls the entire process, from lumber purchase through the installation in your home. He doesn’t allow some hack housepainter with a spray gun to ruin all his hard work.

Yeah, I'm stuck with Sherwin Williams due to needing keeping the peace with my SO's family. It is what it is. I decided to go with salty dog and nearly peach.

And to be clear, I don't dislike Sherwin Williams colors, I'm just not familiar with paint or painting and wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions. I'm not unhappy with my choice of paint even if I might have liked more options.

SW Indigo Batik is a nice deep blue, a grayed navy.
