I've used it forever. Would truly miss it if they ever did away with it.

Keep about 7gb online of seldom needed files and only about 100mb on my computer of files I might use frequently. Saves some hard drive bytes, makes scans a little faster. Any cloud files I would want I just select that folder to sync and I have it.. or just download it from the OneDrive cloud.

I install windows fresh way more than most people would dream about on my laptop .. probably 50 times or more in past year trying new windows 10 builds have installed windows 10 fresh & as upgrades and repair installs - couple times a bad windows version or moment of brain dead screw up and onedrive has saved me .. OneDrive can make it really simple to install fresh, it saves your basic settings/configurations and passwords and desktop graphics, favorites for ie and edge, and not loose any files without even thinking ..much.

If you mistakenly delete a file in your computers onedrive tree and empty the recycle bin.. you can go to OneDrive and get it from its recycle bin :) I've used that 2 or 3 times per year.

One drive makes it really simple to access those files from anybody's computer or anyway you can get online .. you can even set it to access your complete computer files and drives remotely for things not stored in the cloud.

At 10 years old, I would have figured them to be less than $420. Couple that with the fact that windows are 10 years old and very likely outside the frame warranty before you even put them in unless you get a waiver from Eagle.

Outlook email program used to be attached to whatever version of Windows you had...in other words, if you had a problem with outlook you could not uninstall it. You could not uninstall it without uninstalling Windows as well. Course, it was outlook express not outlook... outlook was the program used professionally, in the workplace.... I'd guess in your companies intranet. eta: Windows no longer comes with an email client/app. Out of all the email programs out there, I prefer outlook....it's clean, it's not full of ads, targeted or otherwise, or junk. Click on the MENU icon and COMPARE from the dropdown and it will list everything it does and does not do. Oh, all this can be synced across platforms/devices... your phone, tablet, pc etc Office and all those other apps/programs come with outlook.com. When you open your email, at the top is a task bar and all the way over to the left just beside where it says outlook.com you'll see the Windows icon of 9 window panes.... if you click on it you'll see all those programs listed, plus OneNote, Sway (which is new and getting good reviews... lets you do slideshows very easily and other things) anyway, here is a link to the outlook.com page where you'll see an approximation of the listed programs I see in my email box....I don't know why they are different... the one at outlook.com lists skype, my inbox taskbar does not, and mine lists sway and that one doesn't. Mine are listed, in order, from left to right top row Outlook.com People (which is your address book and this is also where you access Skype) Calendar OneDrive (Windows version of Drop Box, synced to all other programs listed) Word Online All these are synced and can be shared bottom row Excel Online PowerPoint Online OneNote Online Sway Office Online eta: when I open Windows I sign in to my microsoft account....this is how these things are all synced..it is password protected, you can also use a pin....if I'm remembering correctly, you need to do this PW or PIN to sync all your microsoft/windows apps/programs... When I recently upgraded to Windows 10 this stuff (my MS account and settings) was already set up as a default because that's how it was when i was using Windows 8.1 Outlook

Thanks for the suggestions, both of you. I tried that earlier, Richard, and see some things, but not all. It's weird . . . even in Libraries in the Photoshop menu, my folder named 2015 Photos is missing, but everything else in that section (Libraries --> Pictures) is there, including 2012 Photos, 2013 Photos, and 2014 Photos. Aputernut, going that route the photo folders are not visible to me. I checked the Settings to make sure recently used files/folders aren't hidden, and they weren't. I didn't ask W10 to make any changes whatsoever. The photo option I referred to able was an app it wanted to add, and I refused. Windows 7 didn't mess with my photos, and I didn't want to "improve" on that. I'm not concerned that I've lost these pictures; I have them backed up, and I'm pretty sure they're still on the computer; I just can't get to them.

Oh okay well you can buy them from online music stores like amazon or you can use your music cd and use it to save the music to your pc hard drive. There are some free sites online but you have to really look carefully at those to make sure it is legit. Some musicians allow free download of their music. I don't do much music on my computer and usually if I want to listen to music I use Pandora or last fm or Spotify or deezer.

Yes, I do have a OneDrive Account. I don't use it a lot because I really never save a lot of things. What I do save is usually stored on the Hard Drives in my Desktop Computer. My Desktop has about 3 Terabytes of Free Space on it! It may soon have even more free space if I decided to upgrade it to an SSD Drive.

My main use of One Drive is to place files on it that I may want to access on my Windows SmartPhone or on a computer in another location, like someone's computer I might be working on!
