Smells SOOOOO Good!

With the intermittent rains and generally high temperatures we've had, the allergies have been unusually bad, so I haven't been smelling much of anything. This afternoon, however, I was browning an onion. A big Spanish onion. But just the onion, in a pan, with just a little Lite (higher smoke point) olive oil. The lite olive oil is like other cooking oils and not particularly fragrant, so it must have been the onion. But it was just an onion. Like how many onions have you browned in your life? This was different.

It smelled SOOOOO good!

That made me remember that yesterday at the store, I gave a sniff to a lemon before buying it. It smelled fully fragrant, floral and a bit oily, and altogether lemony.

Perhaps it's just my smeller coming back online after being down so long, but such delights from simple produce!

What foods have you savored for their fragrances?
