about the David Austin bagged root roses out there now
Comments (28)Since this thread has popped back up I should say that DA did replace the damaged roses and the replacements are awesome. I haven't seen any of the DA body bag type roses at our Whole Foods lately or anywhere else. If I saw some I would probably get some even though I definitely don't need anymore DA roses this year lol. I went ahead and ordered Lady of Shallot from DA because I really wanted that one and hadn't found it elsewhere grafted....See MoreDavid Austin America 2 qt potted roses
Comments (9)It is April 24th this year, I think, for the nation as a whole. Taking into local and state taxes, for it could be more like May and even June for a lot of people living in the NYC area. Tax here is so bad that I doubt we would be able to afford living in my house once we retire even if we somehow had magically managed to pay off the mortgage. You would need to work full time to just pay the real estate tax in this town. By the rate it is going up, there is little chance we would be able to afford that. Well, at least I have a full yard of roses, for now... That is something I can escape to. ... Sorry for hijacking the thread. The two-gallons look very tempting. May get Princess Alexandra of Kent. I got one plant from S&W nursery, but it frozen to death in the Polar Vortex (as their delivery date was, if i recall correctly, February the latest)....See MoreGABRIEL OAK and EUSTACIA VYE now available on David Austin website
Comments (11)I thought DA put the code in the new catalog that comes out at different times depending on your zone. So customers in warm zones get their catalogs much earlier than I would in z5a because they ship there much earlier. I thought last year I received the catalog in December, but I haven't seen anything as of yet. I am hoping someone in the warm zones will post the code. Thank you....See MoreK and M roses/David Austin roses
Comments (52)Beth Hana I'm interested in BUYING your cuttings of the Prince & Cymbaline and any Austin that smell good from you. I almost bought the Prince back in 2012 from Chamblee's Nursery in Texas but my daughter didn't like its color !! Now I regret it. Few years ago I bought Young Lycidas and it died in its first winter in my zone 5a as grafted-on-Dr.Huey. Grafted roses don't survive freezing rain in my poor drainage clay. Get tired of $3,000 worth of roses dying through my zone 5a winter for the past 3 decades, so I get into rooting roses to donate to charity instead. pricklycuttingnoca I rooted a few The Squire this year, it's drought & heat tolerant.
