Can you review my meal for Easter please...
Comments (20)You all are awesome! Thank you so much for the help. Chase is that PW's smashed potatoes that you are speaking of? I have made those and considered them but decided not to do that - why I don't know?:) They are good. Jessica I thought about a herb/ving. style potato salad but thought it would compete w/the greek salad. Nancy I love Bleu Cheese and so do "some" others but the rest would stick their nose in the air! LOL! Linda - I agree w/ you and I worded wrong. I normally roast potatoes (cut in quarters) about 30 to 35 mins. at 425. You cook them longer? Asparagus I roast about the same amount of time as you. Trix. - I though about a make ahead potato casserole and Bumble the same w/scalloped or Au Gratin but I feel like that would be a bit much since the Crab Imperial is really rich. Twice baked potatoes crossed my mind also. Everyone is invited!!! The more the merrier! Bring on the wine, etc. I'm ready.:) Seriously, thank you all for your help. I really appreciate it....See MoreWhat Do You Put Your Deviled Eggs in For Easter?
Comments (18)Real nice looking deviled eggs Donna L. I did unpack my deviled egg plate and it holds 12 plus room for a few more in the center. That is enough for our meal, that way I won't have a lot of them left. I too have the plastic lidded ones and they are good to store or take eggs in. Two Rubbermaid ones and one Tupperware one. I also have several different glass ones and do use those for other meals. I use either Miracle Whip or Mayo in mine plus, some sugar, and some mustard. Not a lot of any of it. Some times I like to boil more eggs than I need and use the extra yolks so they will be nice and full and of course paprika on the top. Then I just eat the egg whites that are left over :) Sue...See MoreWhat are You having for your evening meal?
Comments (21)I made lasagna. I make it with ricotta, mozarella and sweet Italian turkey sausage (much less greasy). My 6 y/o DS *loves* lasagna. It's always good when I can make at least one of the family very, very happy. ;o) He eats it like it's chocolate cake! Just as I took it out of the oven, he came bouncing down the stairs licking his lips saying "I know what's for dinner! I smell lasagna!" Lasagna night is the night he will out-eat even his 15 y/o brother. Can't get enough. Tomorrow night he will ask me for leftovers. Too cute!...See MoreEaster Meal - What Do You Serve?
Comments (12)Ours is pretty basic, glazed baked ham (NOT spiral cut) & scalloped potatoes for sure. Probably a green salad containing a wide variety of baby greens. Maybe that pineapple casserole made with chunked pineapple, cheese, I forget what else, but it goes so good with ham! A green side dish of some sort. I'm seriously considering introducing the family to the roasted Brussels Sprouts with cranberries in a reduced Balsamic vinegar glaze (Pioneer Woman). Personally, I'd be happy with just that dish, it really is that good! Oh, and dessert is always fresh strawberry pie, even though I decided long ago that there is no such thing as good fresh strawberries in Texas. As no one else here has had fresh strawberries that don't have the hard white center, they think what we have here are good. That's okay, I just make the pie, I don't have to eat it!
