Is this computer YOUR OWN PERSONAL COMPUTER owned by YOU, or does it belong to your employer? If it belongs to the employer or is connected to the employers network, then your company's IT department may have rules about what CAN and CANNOT be installed on their network and on computers owned by them or used on their network. If this is the case, your should talk to whoever in your building is responsible for computer services and find out if they can assist. It may be that the network doesn't recognize you as someone authorized to install new programs.

Unfortunately there are of course a lot of variables. However, I have found some Office installations claim to have been removed - but aren't entirely. Ergo the reference in the Microsoft link to the "Windows Installer Cleanup utility" which worked, but was subsequently withdrawn for reasons stated. Please refer to the MS link to perform a drive check. Once completed, the defragmentation can be performed via the same route - the 'Defragment now' button is directly below the 'Check now' button. Hi Mike and zep516, I went to that website and it was for Microsoft Office 2007. I have Microsoft Office 2003 and Win XPSP3. I was not able to Enable it or Disable it. I was sent a link from a friend that told me to go into Add/Remove Programs and I found the Add in there, so I removed it and when I did the box went away and I have not seen it since. Yeah! You are right I may have unintentionally checked something when I was downloading IE8 but, it was kind of hard for me to understand, so I just took a stab at it and checked what I thought would be Ok. Anyway it is gone now and there is no more problems. Thank you both for posting to this thread, I really appreciate it.
