Need advice on color for bedroom

My granddaughter wants to have a bedroom at our house and wants it to have a color scheme of purple and green! This is one of my favorite combinations but I have never been brave enough to try it! We are thinking a pale lavender for walls, white trim and green accents in window coverings, bedding, etc. The room would be a north-facing room with a large window. I have an old fancy iron bed that would need to be painted. Does anyone have suggestions for a pale lavender paint for the walls that would do well in north-facing rooms?

I appreciate any advice or experience you choose to share!

If the room is north facing, don't use a lavender. It will look dreary and feel cold and drab. Use a deeper, warm purple (and green)

Think about the balance between the lavender and the green and how intense you want to go with the green...it will help determine how bold the lavender needs to be. Do a search in houzz.com on +lavender +green in bedrooms and you'll see quite a few and can see how it looks. Some will even give you the names of the paint they used.

This room uses a pretty, soft shade, very feminine and I like the ceiling treatment too.

I erroneously selected a outwardly pink color for my attic office and when I returned home that night I hated it. My painter suggested one of BMs whites with pink undertone - Atrium white - and it was perfect. Should have checked with him BEFORE he painted as he was back changing it the next day. The point I am trying to make is that if you go for a pink, the most subtle color on a strip may end up being too much. I like my first idea best as far as use of space. I know people say not to put toilets on an outside wall. We had one in our last house in Iowa, but we had 2X6 construction. I don't know how high your window is, but I'm guessing the toilet would fit under there. The shower would be 5 feet long or shorter if you want a wider space to get to the toilet. (kind of tight the way I have drawn). You could do a 5 and half foot long shower and do an angled door at the left end to allow room between the shower and toilet. The vanity would be about 7 feet long, unless you do a 60 inch vanity with a linen cabinet at the door. I would reverse entry door swing if you do that.. The second top right could work and you would still have a small closet. The bottom left plan would require waterproofing your front window. Hopefully someone will give you other ideas. The bottom right plan is bigger, but no closet. Each square equals 1 foot.

Needing blue bedroom paint color advice!!!

Hi everybody, After a few weeks t sit with some larger paint swatches (on a white background), I finally chose a color and did the deed! (Note that I may still change the pillow colors, etc, and we haven't gotten any artwork or photos back on the wall, but I wanted to show you all the general result, since so many people commented!) Here's the room now, in BM Slate Blue (mixed by SW during one of their sales). In the photo, it looks a bit more yellow, or something, than Celery's visualization above, but in person, the blue-gray colors come through and I love the result! I think it definitely leans more towards blue-green than blue-purple, which is nice too. Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions along the way!

I painted an upstairs bedroom in SW Awesome Violet. It is a perfect color--not too girly and not too dark.

Here's what I discovered while sleeping that room while my master bedroom was being built downstairs. It's a wonderful, restful color for sleeping. Green, navy, white, gold, merlot are all colors that work with it.

I'd take a photo, but since i moved my bed out, it is in disarray with boxes scattered around that I'm sorting through.

If you look at the BM or SW website you will see there is a lot of variance in purple. I prefer the purples that are closer to red. I think you should go to the paint store or browse online. You need to have an idea of what she calls purple. BTW, my front door is the color of grape jelly.
