Pachy cactipes is considered a subspecies of rosulatum. They do best in a very porous potting mix. If you want to bulk them up quickly then give them more root room and when they have achieved a nice size you can slow them down in a small pot. During the summer they can be watered daily as long as it is warm: 80+ day and 60+ night. They easily tolerate a nice, long dry dormant period when they should be kept cool and only sprinkled occasionally to keep the roots from dessicating. The leaves will drop. I keep my cactipes in a garage that stays b/w 38 and 55F. In the spring, you can start them indoors or in a greenhouse. DO NOT water heavily until at least a few leaves have fully opened. Flower buds often form before leaves appear. Aeration must be exceptional for all Pachys otherwise roots sit in stagnant soil and these plants do not tolerate it well at all. Stay away from peat completely. If the stems are not turgid then either the root system is underdeveloped or is dying. A healthy Pachy has firm stems even during drought. Just remember that they love heat + water. Anything less than 70's day temps, you should reduce watering. The only exceptions should be P. namaquanum which is opportunistic, and P brevicaule/ eburneum which are alpine species and seem to prefer slightly more watering in the winter despite what you read, in my experience. welcome ... its been thru a lot of stress ... grower to seller.. to your place.. then the watering ... why dont you leave it alone for while.. and let it settle down and see what develops ... repotting it.. or worse.. dividing the plants out will just be one more giant stress .... lets let it settle down before we contemplate that ... on some level.. you are loving it to death .... lets try to back off that ... let it near dry before you water again... you should be able to tell by the pot weight when that is ... if not sticking your finger in the media ... i would probably look into propagating cuttings before i would tear it apart ... from the pix.. i dont understand if its by a window.. or in the middle of the room .. maybe you moved it for the pic ... but im not sure it will get enough light through the shear drapes ... give us some more info on that ... ken

Is your plant still alive? If so, treat them like tropical succulents. Like Hoyas & rhipsalis. So they need a very quick draining soil that dries out fast but they need watered often & like lots of humidity. They also like lots of bright indirect light. search for 5-1-1 mix on this website, that is the perfect “soil” for these. If you think your plant will hold out to be repotted in late spring, I’d wait till then. It’ll have the most amt. of energy & will bounce back from the repot more quickly. If you don’t want to make your own soil, I’ve seen an orchid mix at Lowe’s that looks similar to 5-1-1, it’s called Better Grow Orchid mix.

Personally we have not used Peel & Stick and will not use when specifying for clients. It can be used as a quick fix or a temporary change, but the selections are very limited! You will have many more options if you search for a wallpaper that is a non-pasted, pre-pasted, OR self-adhesive material. Type II Vinyl can also be used in residential applications! It is a heavier duty type of paper. We would also recommend hiring a professional wallpaper hanger to do this job for you! Some wallpaper brands we have had great success with and would recommend include; Thibaut, A Street Prints, & Anna French. Astek has many options if you prefer a Type II Vinyl, but all the previously mentioned brands have some Type II Vinyl as well.
