Dec 2009 Is anyone still being overcharged by their Post Office?
Comments (27)ok...adding more here, for the record... from an email from queenofthemountain. CA I saw the discussion about postage rates and wanted to let you know my Post Office charges the parcel rate for bubble mailers. When I have gone there to mail (usually 2-4 seed packets, taped in place) they charge me $1.22 or $1.39. Here is their info: 8587 Fenwick Street Sunland, CA 91040-1953 (818) 951-0376 I think next time I will print out the Mail Prices page from the USPS Web site to take with me. I suggested she also print out the Physical Standards for Flats (2.0 thru 2.4) and that she ask them to show her their First Class Mail Shape Based Pricing Template...PSN 7530-10-000-0765. If they follow the instructions on the template and check for flexibility (print out that flex test) and see that it is uniformly think...show them the printout on that...then they should be on board. I asked that she report back here with whatever she is told. Hopefully she can get them straightened out, as it is just 2 months shy of being 3 years that the public has been overcharged. Comments (38)I got my package laurastheme! You packed some really neat things. I LOVE the little scale.....my DH uses one just like that but much bigger to weigh his fish. The bigger ones were once used to weigh cotton that had been fresh picked from the fields. Not sure what these little ones were used for. I will have to hide it or they will get off with it for their fish! The blue and green bowl was soooo pretty....and I hate to report but what WAS a lovely plate flower and is no longer quite as lovely. The big plate was in many pieces and the PVC had come off but the small plate, bowl and marble are intact so I can fix that by replaceing the plate. I think my favorite was your unique card with the adorable pic and you, mother and brothers! as well as your book. That was so special and I feel so honored that you chose to share your writings with me. I liked everything in my box and I will post pics soon, for now just wanted to let you know I am one happy recipient!!!! :))...See MoreMy Broken Katie Moragne -Me vs. Post Office
Comments (28)Thanks you guys!!! The check was in the mail yesterday and I deposited it this morning! They didn't reimburse me for shipping costs, only the items but I'm surprised I got anything at all really! I do find it funny that they think it's reasonable to still pay for their service when it failed and leaves you paying shipping for broken items! haha! Andrew - that's another thing that gets me - either just sending it the "scenic route" or when you pay for 2 or 3 day shipping and it doesn't get there in that time. It's so strange they can charge for a service they don't have to fulfill. I am truly grateful I got the item costs back though!...See MoreWANTED: Curiosity was killing my post office gal !
Comments (20)Great swap package Sharon, I love all of the things you chose for Diane. My eye is especially drawn to that lovely bowl, I can imagine all sorts of good things to eat being served from it. Pretty napkins, and they will go with lots of different settings too. The gravy pitcher is the perfect size - I'm thinking warm maple syrup as well. And the best ending of all, a big jar of homemade pickles to serve with Thanksgiving dinner. Enjoy it all Diane! Sharon, you did real good:-) DONNA...See Moreshare_oh
