KT get-together today!
Comments (20)We had a really nice time, but it's always over way too soon. That Carol cracks me up every time we get together. It's a good thing I don't have to sit beside her in church or we'd get in so much trouble! I was really happy to meet Joann and her DH and I apologize to her right now for forgetting it was her birthday. I'm so sorry we didn't sing "Happy Birthday" to you, Joann. But it must've been your lucky day :-) Nita's cousin, Tim isreally interesting and while the guys were talking, it turned out that Harry was a teacher at the same high school Tim attended. Harry was teaching chemistry at the time so their paths didn't cross, but it proves it really is a small world. Lunch was roasted turkey breast, potato casserole, green beans, blueberry salad and rolls. Joann brought homemade red velvet cupcakes (Harry's favorite) and I made bread pudding with whiskey sauce. We mainly just yakked the afternoon away. I had a wonderful time. It's always a good time when Nita comes. I don't know about them, but I know I'm not going to be wanting any dinner tonight. Someone will post pictures, I'm sure. I got my camera out and ready to go, but when I looked for it this morning it had suddenly disappeared. I don't know where that sucker is. I need to learn how to post pictures and was going to use today as a starting point. Sorry!...See MoreJodi's home! Welcome back to the KT!
Comments (20)Thanks everyone. Back home and back to reality. The doctor said I have bronchitis and gave me a Z-Pac, five days of powerful anti-biotics, and some decongestants for my head and chest. I woke up on May 1, the day after the ship visited Russia, with a scratchy throat and have been sick ever since. Went to the ship's doctor twice but didn't get much help there. I tried very hard not to miss out on anything but still spent a good portion of my days at sea sleeping in. Didn't miss any shore time but did miss several breakfasts and morning activities. No big deal I suppose. The upside being, I actually lost weight on a cruise. :-) Got to go back to work this morning. :-( It will be a while before I have time to get my pictures sorted out. Comments (20)LOL, Clare. But you wouldn't be "you" if you did! Anyway, the restaurant is The Whole Enchilada, in Moss Landing. It has Mexican-seaside decor, and is really beautiful. It has a nicely divided main room and a lovely patio, but it's too chilly now for the patio, where we took the picture. We all had Mexican food (I went for Tex-Mex, with a chimichanga) and afterwards, cinnamon coffee. What did we talk about? Hmmmmm..... the KT, and who's been sent to the teacups, and what other forums we visit, and our families, and on and on. There were lots of hugs and laughs. Did we feel like we'd known each other forever? IMO sort of. I'm an introverted person and it takes me awhile to relax with strangers, but I felt so comfortable. There are some remarkable people posting here!...See MoreKT’s personal New layout FAQ
Comments (38)"Do you see xxxxx xxxxx ( Houzz) or xxxxx xxxxx (Facebook)? I wonder if that is because I usually log in with Facebook?" Is the ability to see a user's real name (or whatever they used as a real name to signup) new? I thought it was always appended to the end of ones profile URL and visible by visiting the user's profile or hovering their display name? If that's what you mean, it can be changed. Up to two times per year it says. https://www.houzz.com/changeUsername Edit: I see this was posted elsewhere but... I'll post it anyway. And no, my real name isn't chuggerguy. And it has nothing to do with drinking. I'm a slowpoke and sort of "chug" along, especially while backpacking uphill. :-)...See More- 10 years ago
