Master bedroom ideas...I need input please
Comments (4)Thanks Loribee, I'd like a mirror, but I also love when people have mirrors behind the bedside tables. I'm wondering if that would look good. It's hard to think of what would go over the bed too. Because the bed is so ornate and big and the ceiling is high. I have such a hard time picking art. Comments (9)Exciting project! Lots to think about... Since it's over the garage, do you need to worry about fumes, insulation, fire codes, etc.? Additional soundproofing for when the garage door goes up and down (if anyone uses the door while another person is asleep upstairs)? Also have you looked into height, lot coverage & setback requirements? (Sometimes the setbacks for garages or single stories are different than those for 2 story structures.) Other items which you may already know, but just in case... - Building an adequately stiff floor over the long spans of the garage below without requiring posts below. - Heating and cooling of the new space, since the space below is (probably) not heated or cooled. - Where your plumbing lines / waste drain will run, and will that require tearing out any walls below And others I'm sure the pros will think of....See MoreNeed help with master bedroom ideas
Comments (6)I also like color and for my master I used this rug in a 12x16. I paired it with a velvet teal/peacock headboard and a metallic crossweave wallpaper. I kept the bedcover simple because I already had lots of color. I picked a beige/gold and had a custom fitted bedspread done at Calico Corners. Drapes are a teal/peacock in silk Very hard to find color in the Houzz photos! I also searched for ideas and it was just an endless sea of boring beige and white. When I found the rug, it was my starting point for the bedroom. It took me about a year to get mine done, with months to come up with a design and then more months waiting for the stuff....See MoreHelp me finish off my master bedroom
Comments (6)I love the first chair you posted, but I definitely agree that if you are looking to actually use it to curl up in, I don't think that one is it. I think any of the others will be very nice, but I think my preference would be the last 2. ( I am also looking into a chair for bedroom. I do have one that does have arms and I do use it but it's more of a queen anne type so not super curl up in. I think if you have room for it, an ottoman with a chair would be really good)....See Moreweedyacres
