"Forget about the VOC's, whatever amount in ANY water based paint is not going to harm anything." Nothing could be further from the truth. Depending on the state you live in, a latex paint can have a VOC level of 150 grams per liter (gpl) before tinting. Colorant can add up to another 100 gpl for a deep color. In a gallon of paint (about 3.9 liters) that equates to up to 1 kilogram or 2.2 pounds of VOC emissions that are released. In a typical room that uses two gallons, that's over 4 pounds of liquid that will turn into VOC emissions. On the other hand, a paint like Natura that remains 0 in any color releases virtually nothing. Bottom line, latex does not equate to low emissions.

Out of the choices Above I'd say BM is your best bet. Behr products are too watered down and their white is more of a gray so that effects the way the colors comes out when tinted. Stay away from SW they are a bit better than behr but they over price for the amount of TITO in their paint as well. BM offers a beautiful color selection and has an exellent product. HOWEVER I would love to put Dunn Edwards in the running here. We have an amazing selection of nearly 2,000 colors (not mention custom color mathces we can do), a superior paint product and a FREE Professional Color Advisor service (that's me) . tozmo - yes, very good point on getting the product line they would use for their quotes. Wow! 15 years! The main house I live in was built brand new in 2006 and we repainted it I think in 2017 or 18? Now that I think about it, I'm not sure what the driving force behind that was. I think the paint might have looked OK (never stood out to me as needing to be repainted). Main surface is Hardie board siding. I haven't read examples of paint jobs on old wood siding going for more than 10 years, so I guess I need to factor that in.

Hi - these 2 colours sit increasingly further clockwise on the Color Strategist Wheel, away from Pale Oak. They will likely apoear a a little cooler by comparison. So in your setting, they are somewhat less likely to shift quite as pinky-purple. Sometimes, just moving a few degrees can make a difference, sometimes you may have to move a whole lot further to mitigate colour shift. These are a both a touch darker (lower Value) than Pale Oak + more colourful (higher Chroma). They have the capacity to appear a little greenish where Pale Oak reads well for you. But maybe less likely to do so where Pale Oak looks a little pink/purple. If either is too dark? Then you need a colour with higher Value. If either is too colourful? Then you are looking for a colour with a lower Chroma. If these still read too pinkish? Then moving further clockwise again could help mitigate that. Viewing large paint chips or samples in your space, with your lighting will help indicate how they are likely to behave for you. #huefamilies #value #chroma
