Do you have a screen door on your front door?
Comments (34)Thanks for posting your photo (again), lacombe. That's a good close-up view of the Phantom Screen Door. That must be the cartridge on the left. It looks neat and it seems that it doesn't interfere with the threshold. And by the way, that's a lovely color blue on your door trim. So if I understand correctly, Phantom Screens are installed professionally and RetractAway Screens, on the other hand, come in a kit. And chay, it sounds like they're not so easy to install. Bug Off screens sound good for a temporary solution during those perfect days - would probably save on air conditioning also. Also, I'm curious. When I looked at full-view storm and screen combination doors I wondered how long it takes and how much strength is required to swap the window for the screen. Do they come with some kind of sleeve for storage?...See MoreI Need help with paint color for front door and screen. Awnings & trim
Comments (8)Hi Debbie: Just got to check out Behr paints last evening. I didn't get any samples, so this is just from color swatches. Here's my recommendations: - If you can find a paint color consultant in your area, I bet it will be worth your time and $. They may recommend colors you've never thought of, painting the brick, etc. The sheen of the paint you choose, as well as the paint product can affect the appearance of the color you pick. Pros are great at guiding you through this. - To keep it simple, I'd do your trim and screen door in Behr Painter's White (PPU18-8), Eggshell or Satin Enamel - A safe color for your front door would be a green (assuming you don't paint the brick). I'd do the front door in Semi-Gloss Enamel. A few possibilities are (all Behr) Alpine Air BXC-38, Potting Moss BXC-82, Simply Sage PPU10-16. Comments (137)I'm so glad y'all like it! I love it! It's a happy color! Not what I had originally picked but I think it works with the super white siding. The painters were a nightmare. I'm going to have to redo the front door at some point because they did such a terrible prep job. But it's over. I'm so glad they're gone. Lesson learned. Don't go with the cheap painter you don't know. Go with the expensive painter you know will do a good job! Does anyone have an opinion on the big bushes (Nanda) on either side of the porch? I'm thinking about giving them the ax because they're stringy and I dont like nandina. But it goes against what my sister has always told me " Don't get rid of anything green!" I was thinking about putting flower beds there. But they would be low........See Morefront door and screen door replacement
