Persil Pro-caps
Comments (40)Our LAUNDRY FAMILY cracks me up!!! Ok, if two broken legs were not enough, I went in for a 3rd kill/victory late last night. I washed a med/sm. large sized load of kid clothes (100% cotton) and full of kid stuff (pizza, grass stains, random food stains, water based paint, etc....). Good New....E V E R Y stain removed. No pretreating. No Prewashing. Just one Persil Pro-Cap and 120F wash water (filled with cold, heated to 120F). Clothes look, smell and feel great. No rotten Persil scent yet... only clean and Euro. detergent smelling. BAD new.....SUDS-O-RAMA!!! Like insane suds. I had to do 5 rinses. FIVE rinses. I am stumped why none of you are having this. MamaP...you have soft water too, like we do! I like these caps too. They dissolve immediately, clean anything thrown at them, did not get stuck up on the rubber door boot (even without a mesh bra bad, HA HA!), the scent is clean and fresh and laundry was left soft. I will try calling Persil today, but they might be closed due to the holiday. I have 37 of these buggers left, and Walmart overcharged me. The shelf said Rollback price is $10.99 for a 40 count container. My receipt shows I was charged $11.97. Not cool Walmart!!!...See MoreTarget Up & Up Spring Bloom Softener
Comments (25)These are the lavender scents..but bottles are the same....I did a side by side Huff test with Spring Bloom and Great Values ...both bottles are shapped alike, lids are identical, and scents are the same...I did a wash test..the Great Value made the clothes feel and smell the same as Spring Bloom so are these the same?? There's only so many manufactures of this stuff so it could be the same manufacture is making both store brands, its sure reasonable, as the stores themselves don't have a factory making this stuff, they contract out for it, so its completely reasonable to think they could be the same product. anyone else have both products that you could do a side by side sniff test?...See MoreGerman Persil Gel & Original Gain Softener
Comments (1)Nice Larsi. I do like Gain original FS, although I'm out of it and have sworn off any more softeners until I use up what I have, which may be awhile. I will have to buy the Free and Clear as I mix all my flavors with it to cut the scent a bit. Always enjoy your reviews....See MorePersil ProClean Power Caps
Comments (23)Hi again everyone! Thanks again for the info. You have no idea how grateful I am. In case Larsi see this, I did buy the Tide booster anti-BO pods you recommended. I hadn't used them yet when one of my daughter came home for a few days from college for spring break. She brought her dirty laundry home with her and plopped it down in the bathroom where the w/d live. I recognized the laundromat smell. I know that smell. Very well. Our former front loaders were out of service much of the time and we had many adventures at various laundromats over the twelve years we had front loaders. It's a different smell--that of unfamiliar people's body odor. I know everyone's "smell" in this family, and then I know "laundromat washed laundry smell". Different animals. Anyhow, she had intense laundromat odor in her laundry. I gave her the bag of Tide anti-BO pods. I figure she needs them to try and override having to use communal washing machines at college. Thank you for the recommendation, but now those pods are off to live a better life in Santa Cruz lol. I'll get another bag in a while for here. So, on Friday night I did the pre-wash like you recommended MamaP. That is a great process. Wow! I'm embarrassed to say I've not used the pre-wash before. We are water-a-phobic here in CA and with my newish top loader I've felt guilty to indulge in such water luxury before. I used the pre-wash cycle and threw in half a scoop of powder detergent. Then I did a regular cycle with half hot water and half warm water with hubs only color clothing with borax with a 30 min soak (this Speed Queen seems like it is done with a cycle so soon I usually stop the machine after a few mins of agitation and let it soak. But that might just be me having been used to the long cycles on front loaders). Perfection! He doesn't know about my enrollment here in the Laundry Academy because I'm afraid he might send for a wagon to come haul me away to the loony bin if he found out. It was bad enough when the UPS man came and delivered a box of Persil last week. Hubs said, "but you have laundry detergent. Why did you order more?" Um, well, I may have a little problem with laundry detergents lol. So this thing happened yesterday evening. Unprompted, all on his own, hubs spent about 10 mins talking to me about he doesn't know what's different, but his clothes in the last few days have changed for the better. Ok. This is a man who doesn't think about laundry or even know how to turn on a washing machine. He was saying how his clothes feel much cleaner and smell so much better. He was gushing (!) about how he really likes that his clothes feel crisp and not slick or greasy (!!).He said it was wonderful to smell fresh clothing that wasn't perfumed, but was CLEAN and not his own body odor as he goes through his day. He said he can't put his finger on it, but if I've been doing anything different with the laundry, he'd really like it if I could keep doing cause he's really liking it. Awwww!!! Flutters in my heart. He wondered if it was our new Speed Queen washer and it took that long for the gunk to get beat out of the clothes...I told him that I've made some new friends in an on-line laundry room and I've been learning a lot of new stuff from them. I said, these people know laundry! You should have seen the smile on him. Too sweet. :) I thought I'd share with you :) He doesn't say much (anything) about his laundry, but apparently, he's been displeased with it just as I have been, but he never said anything about it. Thank you! So much! Rococogurl, I haven't used the boiling water yet, but in a few days I'll be ready to wash and soak my work towels, aprons, and client smocks and I'm going to use it then. I wanted to try the pre-wash cycle first because it's easier, but I will use it on hubs clothing when he has filled the hamper again. As for the Persil, I'll give it another try next week with the extra steps above and hopefully it does a better job for us. I used powder Cheer and Borax this weekend with excellent results. Yay!! I'm so happy!!...See Morelarsi_gw
