As a point of data, I've got 4 little hostas in the ground that did have winter irrigation and they are coming back fairly well (as far as I'm concerned). Not quite as big as yours, but they were planted very small last year. 3 of the 4 look "good" and the last one looks "poor to fair". I'm impressed that they're back at all since something was eating them all last year. Anyway, winter irrigation may not be a deal breaker.

Tell the manager that if they don't remove the diseased plants that you will be calling the State Dept of Agriculture to report them. Then do so if need be. Steve

Two ways of posting photos. First is the GardenWeb way, by using the "Image file to upload" box at the top of the posting window. You click the "Browse" and look for a single picture on your computer. Me LOVE pictures....we are all Picture Monsters. The other way is to create a photo account (free is good) at Flickr, Photobucket, etc, but they must give you the HTML CODE which is what you copy/paste into the post. Can't find it? Mark the location. Bloodroot dies back very early in the season and spring wildflowers like this can get forgotten otherwise. Look early spring for beautiful white flowers. Here's a picture of them in my woodland garden from this spring. FataMorgana
