I think the accent stripe is also the pebble. I think using a lighter color for shower walls like they did would be better than the floor tile--you don't want to feel like you're in a wooden crate.

A smooth patternless large format tile in a light color (which I think is what they have) works because there is already enough texture with the pebbles and "wood". It looks like they picked up that in the counter too. So maybe finding a good counter material and a matching wall tile would be a starting point...

My guess is the backsplash mosaic was used in the shower.

I think Fori gave you good advice. We were in a restaurant where stone-look large format tile was used on the bathroom walls and the floor. The walls were really closing in and I felt like I was in the Grand Canyon. I could see how using wood tile like that would make you feel like you were inside a wooden crate.

The accent is definitely the mosaic tile and not the pebble. The pebble is that sliced, flat stone. And you are right, I don't want that cave feeling since the bathroom won't have a window and will be in our finished basement. I knew I didn't want travertine r anything with that look because so many people do that and while it's nice, I'd like something a little different. The basement will be my husband's world, so we want to do it masculine.

I misread your comment about the accent tile. I thought you didn't know what it was but now I see you were asking about the field tile.

I think the shower tile may be a textured linear tile or a linen look tile. That's a nice modern look but I wouldn't use pebble tiles as an accent.

I didn't click on the other photo to see the backsplash, but yeah mosaic for sure. And I think the mosaic plus pebbles is a little too busy. I'd pick just one for a small bathroom. Or for this giant one. :)
