anyone using the American made Tramentina fry pans?

Several years ago I bought a set of the 3 different sizes of Tramatina fry pans (they were orange & made in Italy) from Sam's & the best I have ever used- & still using daily- for the price! I followed the cleaning directions in the beginning & have had no problem at all with food sticking (I always use plastic/not metal utensils in them) as I had had with other more expensive brands... luv them!

Now I see Sam's, Costco & WalMart carry the brand again but now they say' made in America' & come in two different (& $'s) colors: one has a 5 yr. warranty & the other a lifetime. Has anyone tried these made in America Tramentina pans & if so, do you like them as well as the earlier ones made in Italy?

I wanted to get another set as a gift but not sure now if the made in America ones now are as good?

A couple years ago I had read (in GardenWeb then) other's responses & it seems most felt this brand (made in Italy) for the money was great & held up much better than more expensive brands.

lindac92, that is possibly the worst attitude to have and it's unfortunately all too common. The planet is a mess enough as it is without disposing of cheap crap because you can't be bothered to invest in and take care of good quality products. Can anybody tell me weather it's safe to use a cleaning product like Oven Sense on non-stick surfaces? I bought it to do my baking trays and then realised it might take off the coating. I really don't want to ruin my cookware.

Kinda think ya need a LITTLE oil or butter even in non-stick. Don't know WHAT the coating is on them, but I'd recommend Calphalon non-stick. Not terribly expensive... places like BB&B usually have set of 2 skillets for around $40!?! And treated kindly (no metal tools or VERY gentle with metal), they're NOT thow-aways. Had heard/read about their excellent return/replacement policy and took them up on it last year. Returned favorite sauce pan (easily 15 yo) and 2 skillets (5+ yo?). Sauce pan was showing wear in bottom... wooden tools and/or plactis(?) whisks only. Skillets just weren't as non-stick as had been. Went to their website, filled out some info, printed out a shipping lable, and sent them off... NO receipts required! A week or so later, came home to BRAND NEW replacements at front door. All it cost was shipping.

I have had several electric skillets in 58 years of marriage, Food Network brand was tops but tried to use it this past weekend and it was not making connection correctly as the pug in is shot. Trying to locate another one and can't. This skillet was 21 inches long by 13 wide. Love it. I got my money worth but need another one now. It was a no stick and it was prefect in that department. Anyone know where I can purchase another.? I have checked Penney's. Bed Bath and Beyond, Macy's, Belk, Amazon and Kohl's, no one has any as large as this one or the brand.

Islay, I meant no offense. I know that there are people on that side of the Atlantic who have goodly kitchens. It's just that I've known folks in France, Belgium and Germany who had very expensive flats that weren't much bigger than my front porch (which isn't enormous). Some didn't have ovens at all. One had a regular range (cooker) with a small, but adequate, single oven. Another had an under counter built in that's the size of a large toaster oven. Point taken about the chips (fries). I guess I don't know enough people who make a lot french fries at home. The reviews Ive read of the machine say they come out just like oven fries, but I have no personal experience. I was just disappointed when I found out what it did because I would have loved some magical Star Trek device that made flash fried fresh eggplant, rice noodles, tempura, and good ol' fried chicken.
