Do you have a chiseled edge on your granite countertop?
Comments (9)Thanks so much for the post! Your bathroom is beautiful! The piece we are looking at is New Colonial Cream and was actually fabricated for another client. It's 3cm granite with a laminated edge so it has a very substantial look. Because they are really want to sell the slab they are giving it to us a a discount. The only other issue is that in order to accommodate for the extra thickness of the edge we will have to raise it up by almost an inch make the counter about an inch higher. We ordered a kitchen height vanity as that is what they are putting in custom homes these days and I'm not sure about adding another inch as I am 5'2". But for the price I may just go for it! Now I'm just rambling on...enough already! Anyway - thanks so much for the input and pics...I really appreciate it....See MoreWhich laminate counter edge did you choose?
Comments (13)My Mom did a "Geneva" edge which is described as an "understated modern drop ogee with clean attractive edge contour lines". She is really happy with it. Kitchen I am doing now can be done from one sheet (no seam on the top) so like the Soapstone kitchen already mentioned and Rhome410 we will do a custom top with a set on edge but a little thicker than standard. The homeowner picked this really funky pattern called "Beluga Beige". The larger sample I ordered came in yeserday. I love it but we will see whay the homeowner thinks when he sees more than a 2"x3" sample chip. Geneva Edge: Formica's Beluga Beige:...See MoreWhat edge do you have on your granite countertops?
Comments (20)Greenmtn, I'm in the process of redecorating, and I'd like a traditional look that lends itself to change with the right accessories. I, too, had thought of doing the island countertop with a different edge from the cabinets. I like the ogee/bullnose for my island, but I'm not sure which edge would look best on the other countertops. Thank you for the responses!...See MoreWill this look work? Comments (11)barncats- Thanks for finding that picture. It does look pretty and I think I will be happy with the look. That is a great idea to lighten up the paint by 1/2 percent. I didn't think of that and it will make a difference for sure. I'll wait on the backsplash decision and hardware until the paint and countertops are in too - great advice. I have 9 Fireclay samples here in their various white options, and I think the current wall and countertop color are darkening and throwing off their true colors. Once I get the countertop in and walls painted, I'll be sure to come back for advice and opinions. Thanks for the edge profile opinions too. It really helped narrow things down....See Morekelleg69
