What Brand of Laptops Do you have? What Operating System do they have (Windows 7, Windows 8 or 8.1)? I would suggest doing a Reinstall of your Operating System using Recovery Disks. Did you make your Recovery Disks Like recommended in your Laptops Paperwork? The Manufacturers no longer send Recovery Disks, you must either make a set of DVD Recovery Disks or make a Flash Drive Recovery Disk! You may also be able to Purchase a Recovery Set or Flash Drive from the Manufacturer. I purchased a Refurbished Laptop that had a Clean Install of Windows 8 (not with the Acer Software Recovery Disks). The Seller didn't use Acer Recovery Disks but used a Retail Windows Disk that removed the Recovery Partition. I was unable to create a recovery disk not having a Recovery Partition. I wanted the Laptops Reset to factory but with that clean install the Recovery Partition was removed. Anyway, I ordered a Recovery Flash Drive from Acer for $45+ Tax shipped (about $50 all together). I've since restored my laptop to factory settings and currently have Windows 10 Home Installed! There isn't anyone trying to collect $150 a year for anything. I'm assuming that you may have some form of Virus/Malware/Spyware on your system! Windows 10 shouldn't have tried to install unless you told it you wanted to upgrade!

Thanks everyone. mikie, that sounds a little complex. If necessary, I'll try it, though. An update... last night after posting here, I decided to try to get those Windows updates redone and out of 'stall' mode. So, what happened was the latest version of Windows 10 updated - it was a long one, took about an hour. After that, my computer is working like I think it should as far as speed with no lags. I haven't used it enough to see if that "HD Intel Graphics Display driver has stopped working and has recovered" popup happens again. So far it hasn't. While doing the Windows 10 update, I could see it was installing new drivers for quite some time, so I'm hoping that will resolve the issue. If not, it looks like I'll have to return it because it's really annoying to continually see this popup whenever I try to navigate the internet. I'll post back to report what happens. Windows 10 is a fundamentally different ownership arrangement. You are not buying a product any more, you are essentially buying a service. They can choose to change that service or stop offering that service. They can force you to upgrade that service. You don't really own the software anymore, just a right to use the service, whatever that may be. Now this may sound trivial, but it is a fundamental change in their business model. Probably the biggest change is in how they view your information. They have access to your information and the metadata derived from it. You can certainly try to turn off all the check boxes that give them access to your information, but it is difficult and tedious. They may get turned back on again without your knowledge via a service change. They have a "content distribution network" or ad network that they are weaving into the OS. Currently most of this is viewed via Bing, but the future is to pump it into your desktop or tablet and use information derived from your usage to help advertisers target the ads to the ideal audience. This may sound familiar, because it is exactly what google has been doing on the browser platform for years. MS just wants to adopt it and use their platform to deliver the content. Just to touch on meta data, they can collect information about your data and create new data from it. Then they can disavow having your original data, while retaining the new data that they own derived form your data. Mush this up with the proper legal language and it gets very difficult to figure out exactly what data they are accessing and what they are doing with it. 10 is very usable, you just need to understand that you have become the product.
