So far I think you're right on track! It looks really nice and pulled together. W/o reading the other comments (I'm so easily influenced): I think that ths scroll work piece above the fireplace is nice but could be better. The area seems a little 'light-weight' so I thought of 2 options: 1: A heavier picture w/ in subued colors w/ a beautiful hint of apple green would look wonderful. or 2: Raise the scroll work a bit and if the fireplace ledge is wide enough add a row of granny smith apples on it. I think a 3rd drapery panel would take it to the next level of layering which would be great. All in all you've doen a really great job! After reading the other comments: Def. agree w/ adding a chair to bring the fireplace back into the area, adding it in a fun print or color is very magazine worthy as suggested by ksw. Def. one long rod.

Thanks! I couldn't find the initial thread from over a year ago when I found the chandelier. My oldest DS wanted to go yard saleing (?) on the way home from soccer one Saturday and at one of the stops I overheard the lady say to her friend that a man told her that she should take the the chandelier to an appraiser. I urgently started scanning for this 'chandelier' when I spied it on the driveway in the corner. I nearly broke out in a sweat trying to stay casual when I asked her how much she wanted for it. When she said $10 I screamed 'SOLD' and practically started running to my mini-van w/ it dropping crystals along the way. The womans husband followed me picking up crystals. I actually left my kids there while I sprinted to my van w/ it. Since then my family graciously tripped over it in various rooms while I figured out what to do w/ it. Thanks C.! Miss you! I think that it's because I am always 'In Process'. Have been for 10yrs. LOL! I painted the ceiling grey the same week DH hung the chandelier. I'd been toting a can of leftover grey paint around in my jeep for a year wanting to do that ceiling. It was leftover paint from the trim when we moved into our new practice. When the gold from the chandlier went up against it I loved it! My LR & Office ceilings are a lighter shade of grey and my entry hall ceiling is black. Luckygal - mismatched chairs. Yes - I have a basement full of them. One of the perks (downfalls) of owning a furniture refinishing, repair biz. DH regularly brings home abandoned chairs. I take it you approve SunnyCottage :O)? EG3D - 42" from table top to bottom crystals. Our ceiling are 9'. I would venture to say that the home that it came out of had 8' ceilings. Ideally I'd hang it a bit lower but there wasn't enough chain or wire at the time. Here is another corner: The hutch was made and purchased in Bali. The wood wasn't fully dried before it was shipped back to the US and caused some warping and shrinkage during the journey. The owners brought it to us for repairs and then promptly moved to England for 2yrs w/o ever contacting us. When they moved back to the US they called us and told us that we can keep it or do whatever we wanted w/ it. Hence - I inherited the piece. It also houses my glitter compulsion, glue, ribbon and scrapbooking paper.

To each his/her own, edlincoln. For me, I have two stopping points. The first is my use of several OLD/discontinued peripherals that I use on several PCs. Drivers are no longer updated and sometimes drivers made for earlier versions of Win won't install on later instances. Available for Win10? I don't know or care, happy with things as is. The second stopping point is that I have an all-in-one Sony Vaio that I like a lot with a similar problem, Sony has exited the PC business and no longer makes or sells PCs. So, no updates for drivers. On this PC, I first got the standard "Update to Win 10" MS popup that every PC is showing, and then later a different popup said something like "Don't upgrade to Win10, there's no video driver available for what you have". There's no reason to struggle. I have Win 8 on 3 PCs, and I've added Classic Shell to all. It's fast and stable. I like it a lot. I won't hesitate when the time comes to buy new PCs with Win10 but what I have works fine as is, I see no advantage to upgrading.
