Of course I have been gone all afternoon again. I went to see my doctor, got my 3 prescription refills for a year. I was surprised I did not have to have any blood work, don't come back till you need refills and that will be in a year. Good news especially since I am now 81. Then we met with Cheryl out at Terri's and visited with them and Mandy and Alex . Now supper is ready. Boneless pork chop, mashed potatoes, gravy, apples and some coleslaw. Iced tea to drink. What will you have this evening?

I got a pot of white chilli, somewhat off the recipe I got from Glenda going, and will eat that in a little bit.

My mother dropped off 3 dozen eggs yesterday, so we had cheese omelet wraps with red leaf lettuce. Easy-peasy.

I'm going to put on a pot of chicken broth and chopped vegetables in a minute and eventually end up with a creamy seafood chowder by the time I'm finished.

I've got onions, celery, carrots to go in first, then peas, g. beans, maybe cabbage, fish stock, shrimp, sweet blue catfish (caught by moi), cream, and a bit of butter.

Gadgets, I haven't made hard boiled eggs in a long time.Thanks for the reminder! Friday is typically date night for us, but with the torrential rains of the past 24 hours and flooding we're staying home. Dh had leftover Madras Curry and cuke salad for lunch. Dinner? There are more leftovers in the fridge or maybe I'll zap a couple of Amy's Veggie Lasagnas.

The last of the green pepper soup the neighbor gave me plus fried green tomatoes and I also fried some brussel sprouts before they went bad. Never tried that before, they got a little too brown, but tasted alright. It's almost 9pm. and I'm getting hungry for "something". Had veggies and dip, but that's not hitting the spot. ha. Maybe a little bit of cottage cheese.

We have the Sprites overnight, so G'pa can have a date out of the house. We made our pizzas from scratch as we often do on Friday, then grilled them outside. They like all of the usual toppings, and even some different options like shrimp and spinach on a white sauce pizza. I mixed up some Greek yogurt, chopped fruit, and honey and made little frozen pops for dessert. They are in their jammies; we've been watching School of Rock, and they've been loving it. I'll go up and read to them when the movie is over....we are into the Little House on the Prairie books.

Spaghetti, and homemade meatballs from yesterday. I really love the meatball recipe, but it takes many hours of prep (which I usually try to do the day before) for a large batch. Then my basil plant could not provide sufficient foliage for the 3/4 C of minced fresh basil, and a trip to TJ added to the time. Luckily, I still had frozen sauce, so that part was simple. The garlic bread task was delegated out to a family member.

My daughter and her boyfriend are over for dinner. We bought Goosebumps movie in 3D and invited them over to watch after dinner. Dinner is ribs with sugar free bbq sauce roasted in the oven, with loaded cauliflower and a salad.

I put a pot of ham and vegetables soup cooking earlier today. I have a lot of left over ham. Husband had 2 bowls so I guess he liked it.

Good hot veggie/chicken/tomato soup and good hot cornbread. Comfort food on a cold night. Wish I had some of Glenda's blackberry pie.

I made chicken parmesan. It was one of my first few times of trying to make it and it was mediocre at best. :-( I did use most of a jar of home-cannned tomato sauce, I'll see how long it takes the remainder to get fuzzy.
