How high to run a backsplash in a bathroom with an oval mirror?

We have 3 bathrooms in our new house that I want to do a backsplash in after we move in later this year. (It's being built). I picked oval mirrors, but now I'm wondering how high to run a backsplash under them. It's easier to do with square mirrors because the straight edge gives you a more natural stopping point if you don't want to go all the way up the wall. Oval mirrors - not so much. Any advice on this? Do I have to go all the way up the wall or is there a good way to stop it partially up without it looking weird. I haven't found many pics here on houzz to help out in this regard unfortunately.
