Help with bathroom backsplash, paint, and wall ideas (pics)
Comments (16)Lighter beige or grey would be pretty. I would do either the riverrock or the small tiles that are in the shower, for the backsplash. I too though was thinking of doing nothing for the backsplash because it does look so pretty already. As for the Weird Wall I suggest three, say 12x12, framed pics of nature. White mats with wood frame to match the mirror frame. I would do sepia colored pics of leaves or trees. You could save a bundle by going outside and taking some pics yourself, get readymade frames if you can get color to match. I like the idea of a simple plant on the vanity. Maybe a white, ceramic pot. I would cover the "dirt" in the pot with small river rocks. You can get them at the dollar or craft store pretty cheap. Or to save even more you can get some out of the yard, like pea gravel, and shine them up with spray on sealant or I think when I was a kid we used glue....See Moreneed idea for bathroom vanity backsplash
Comments (1)Look thru the pages linked below for lots of ideas. I've done a bath with tile wrapping around the room and trim finishing off the top about 6" above the counter top. I don't think I'd do a borderline of tile by itself around the room. Having a backsplash behind the vanity will work just as well as doing the whole room. It all depends on the look you're going for, time and money. If you end up with any gaps between the vanity and the backsplash you can glue some matching decorative 1/2-round tile at the junction. Here is a link that might be useful: backsplash...See MoreSmall backsplash in bathroom..a few inches....tacky or not?
Comments (6)I vaguely dislike them thus I don't have them. We did run the mirrors all the way to the counter in our master bath. A hall bath and a powder room have free standing vanities both no backsplash. The walls there are not tiled either. I truly don't see why they're needed so much if one remembers to turn off the faucet..and wipe the counter... Then I grew up where we didn't have any backsplashes anywhere, so probably didn't imprint in me as a thing neccessary to have. Of course if I moved to a house that already has backplash like that I wouldn't rip it out just because I'm not a fan. But when given a choice decided not to install it. I felt like our master bath has enough things going on, and didn't want to introduce another element....See MoreNeed help with backsplash selection and mirror placement in bathroom
Comments (2)I love how they used the floor tile for the backsplash here and topped it with the mosaic. The floor tile may have been cut down to fit. Would that work with the materials you've already selected? I would rather see tile than 10" of counter material. It would be okay to leave a gap at the top of the mirror. I assume you're not putting lights over the mirror or I'd center it....See Morecat_mom
