Are you using your beloved Up & UP FS with this? Is it maybe a bad interaction between the two?

Maybe Persil's preservatives expire rapidly? This has been happening here with other Forum members, dang it! I used mine up within the first 2 maybe 3 months and never had this problem. Almost hate to buy another bottle but with last weeks coupon I probably will. Tide to the rescue!

I got the disgusting smell from Persil liquid (it was so bad that my daughter asked me to rewash her face towels because they all smelled!) and I vowed to never buy it again, no matter what anyone says.

@ Alex Chicago....no fabric softener interference. Many times when I used this Persil 2 in 1, I did not use softener because the detergent smelled so good.

NO more!! :(

My jugs of Persil 2in1 that are almost 11 months old are just fine as is my Walmart Pearls and my Euro Perls.

MamaP...my 2 in 1 smells amazing in the bottle!! Just not after washing and drying.

Sparky...You are right. 90% of the Time I use Tide Original powder for all things but white. White gets Miele UltraWhite or Tide with Bleach powder. EASY and always, always, always works!!

The Tide with Bleach powder is the BEST detergent for whites ever IMO and Miele White comes in amoung my top 5 detergents and I LOVE its scent. Larsi I forgot to ask you..do you use the original scent Tide in HE or non HE?

I think Mexican Ariel probably performs a little bit better at stain removal & brightening than Tide Plus Bleach Powder. However... Tide plus Bleach is a little more compacted, and less frothy allowing one to use more detergent for a heavily soiled load.

Mexican Ariel (Oxianillos & Doble Poder) really though should be in a category all by itself. It's a wonderful cleaner for a lot of situations.

And I've also found.. that Tide plus Bleach Alternative Liquid (despite having a nasty Original Scent) is a WONDERFUL cleaner for Soft, White, Beautiful sheets when One Tablespoon is used in my Miele. I only use it for Sheets though... and prior to that, I was using German Persil Universal Green Liquid instead.

@mamapinky0, every single Tide Powder formulation made after the "Ultra" compaction in 2010 contains sud suppressors. To a great extent, you can use any Tide Powder on the shelf without problems at all. You just shouldn't be using the Scoop as a measuring guideline.

@Mitch - I was under the impression Mexican Ariel didn't contain sodium percarbonate, so I'm a little surprised by your claim of it brightening better than Tide w/ Bleach. I know from other posts you wouldn't say so without good reason, so I'm curious as to why. I'm also a bit surprised you have good results with it using a FL! Larsi and I are both very "meh" about it. Must continue experimenting, I guess! I still have almost a full bag.

@ MamaP....all of my boxes are Tide Original Scent "he", but I do have one non-he box that Mitch generously & lovingly mailed me a while back (and still has not accepted payment for!!). I agree with him... just do not use the provided scoop as a measuring guideline.

As I've said 1000x , nothing is better for me that the Original, Original Scent of Tide powder (1970's thru 2012/3013).

Alex...Mexican Ariel powder would probably clean anything...I agree with Mich that it should be in a category by itself although I've never used it on whites. and now I'm wondering why...sodium percarbonate is great at whitening if used the proper way..but I'd expect a good phosphated detergent will also keep those whites ..white.

I mean what was in that automatic dish detergent years ago that whitened sports pants so well...I'm thinking phosphates

Mexican Ariel does contain Sodium Percarbonate. And the "Ultra Blanqueador" contains even more ;)

Admittedly though.. The High PH or Alkaline content in dishwasher detergent can remove a lot of things from porous surfaces, such as textiles. I just wouldn't want that stuff on my hands, or skin, unless extremely thoroughly rinsed.

Bleach in dish detergent helped whiten and maybe the phosphates helped.

Mexican Ace is my ultra heavy duty detergent. Pinol for whites is amazing stuff as well. Mexican Ariel produces more suds than Tide for me but the suds collapse quickly and it rinses cleaner.
