Would This Mirror Go With My New Chest?
Comments (18)Sorry it took me so long to post an update. Another late night at work. So I met with the woman yesterday and the mirror is ok but I'm not crazy about it. I bought it for the silliest reason. The woman lives across town and drove to a spot about 10 minutes from work. So we met in a parking lot and when I first looked at the mirror, I thought eh! It was nice but not necessarily worth $40 and it appeared smaller than the picture. So do I say no, well no. I felt guilty that she drove so far so I paid her and left. Once I got back to work, I looked at it closely and it is nice but no hot tamale. When I got it home last night, it is definitely too small vertically for the chest, it may work horizontally. The gold however does compliment the gold on the chest. When I get home tonight I'll have DH hold up the mirror both ways so that I can post pics. I'm such a mush in saying no, I really have to work on that. I talked to my Admin about it and we both agreed that if it doesn't work anywhere else, I'll post it back on CL to sell....See MoreCL spindle table...which place looks best?
Comments (17)I wish I knew how to use photoshop and I could help you, though I still struggle with my table top decor. Squirel has been helpful to me Ps'ing plants in my living room, which is probably why I have more there today than I would've otherwise. If would look very nice with a fern below in a wicker type pot in case the cat knocks it over. Would she play with the leaves? Here are a few pics of my entryway which you can see is also rectangular and a very awkward space to decorate. It's too big to leave complete empty, but I cannot put much there without it feeling cramped. My table location is not ideal as you see the side view more often than not. I may add a rug in front of the door (if I ever get around to choosing my LR/DR rugs) plus I may add a pic on the wall opposite the entry table. In this pic you can see what I mean about the mirror reflecting the wall decor so you get a double benefit: For the table decor items, you can find some interesting items at Home Decorators, Michaels, Kohl's, Linen's 'n Things, etc. and Lowe's or a nursery is a good place to find plants and a wicker type planter. Also you need to think about what you want to put on the walls before finalize the table decor so that one does not block another, unless it's a mirror as the mirror can reflect the item (like the backside of a lamp or flowers). Are you thinking of painting your entry? Perhaps the same color as your LR? It would look nice in some of the green shades you were considering for your LR or alternatively a tan/gold color that compliments it? How about your drapes?...See MoreCL - all things come to those who wait
Comments (17)You know what is weird. I have no drawers at all in my bedroom now. Just some bins in a closet. And this is really cool - the 12 drawer has gradated sizing of the drawers. They get about a half inch taller each row down. You can see it on three center ones at the bottom of the picture. And I like the pulls on the center tier. They look like a key is inserted in an ornate lock. Yes, I will likely paint. I am conflicted because the finish is in good condition, but I am not keen on the yellow and gold. I have time to think it over....See More1970s mirror update
Comments (13)The mirror has been up for about a week. It's in the corner of our living room, not in a spot where you would look at yourself but in a spot to reflect a little light into an otherwise dark corner. It's next to a vase of faux flowers that I used to keep at work (I'm a SAHM now) so that's the main reflection. Looks great; adds a little interest to an otherwise-bare corner but isn't too in-your-face. I'm still very pleased! Here's my project mirror in action :-)...See MoreErrant_gw
