Persil Universal Powder Detergent for Darks & Colours???
Comments (6)yes, it's a mid - long term effect. Back in the seventies/eighties here in europe we had just regular powders with oxygen bleach and wool powdered detergents. The choice was between a too harsh detergent that faded dark colours and a too mild detergent that was uneffective with several stains. Since 20 years we have regular detergents *whitout* oxygen bleach that wash colours whitout fading. Some detergents have even anti transfer agents to wash "mixed colours" and dark fabrics with no damage. To have a clue my black jeans and coloured polo shirts back then faded a lot despite of warm washes, now they last for many years. Also : since round 10 years we routinely wash black, cherry red, green Ikea (so not the finest quality) towels @ 140°F with detergents for darks (as the likes of Perwoll Black Magic or Woolite for Darks) Black is still black, cherry red is still cherry red ... back those times it would have turned into grey and pink within six months Also be aware that powders may leave some unsoluble residues on dark fabrics. Washer manufacturers (miele included) reccommend to wash dark fabrics with liquid detergents. They say powder contain zeolites ( roughly speaking, clay) that are unsoluble and leave little unpleasant white grains on laundry. I feel those powders that use zeolites as water softener take ages to be rinsed properly and no matter laundry feels rather stiffer than if it were washed with liquids or other kinds of powders...See MoreFinally tried Persil... Comments (6)LOL andi2928!!! I actually returned my last 2 batches of Persil MegaPerls. They also had, what I found to be a very unpleasant scent & the performance was actually awful. My gym clothes did not smell, nor look fresh & clean and dishtowels still had stains on them. I do not know if Persil has changed formulas....but it is nothing like what I have known, used and loved since the 1980's! Although Tide he Powder "Original Scent" has been ruined by P & G...it still cleaned better than my last 2 boxes of Persil MegaPerls (regular and for colours). Tide Original he liquid performed better too. Although either it is no longer made, or impossible to find....Tide with Bleach he Powder was amazing. I actually, for my whites, buy and use Tide with Bleach powder non-he. Since I have a front loader, that uses a lot less water than a top loader...I just greatly reduce the amount of powder. If using very hot or sanitize...it can produce a little too much suds, but it always rinses away clean from my clothes and machine. Smells clean and fresh too!!...See Morei love persil!
Comments (36)THE BEST PRICE FOR PERSIL MEGAPERLS can be found at www.betterproductsonline.com. Here are links to the lowest price per load for both Megaperls products: Persil Megaperls Color @ $0.89/load Persil Universal Megaperls @ $0.89/load I have not been able to find these products for less on a $/load basis. The 5-pouch bundles of the 18-load 1.215 kg product at Better Products Online yields the lowest cost per load and lowest cost per kg ($13.17) that I could find online. I just submitted an order, as my current stock is running low. The above pricing is for the concentrated Megaperls products. They also contain the regular Persil Universal powder as well as liquid varieties and Perwoll. You may want to look those up to see if their prices are lower on those as well. Free shipping too!...See MoreAnyone try Persil?
Comments (15)Enduring, I don't add sodium percarbonate if I'm using a powder detergent with bleach already in it, but if I'm using a liquid detergent I do... even my STPP I don't add with every load anymore since I've lost my supplier, and haven't ordered from another place yet...which I have to soon as I'm very low. I think you should continue as you've been doing since you've been happy. With your harder water and farm life you may need the extra boost...so wish I lived on a farm in Montana...just like the settlers. Lol. I just watched Frontier house on youtube..3 families went back in time for 6 months to live like the settlers great show. Lol. It wasn't really a farm...but I loved it. See how I can go on and on..no wonder Alex thinks I tip a shot glass lol...See Moreaa62579
