persil and baking soda
Comments (8)@Crystalannj Johnson, I honestly do not understand where this internet misinformation came from but Vinegar does not remove stains, or improve the performance of a Soaking or Wash Solution. I will say, it will remove certain rust stains, but beyond that, you are neutralizing Detergent instead of increasing performance by adding it. Baking Soda, on the other hand does improve performance, but it's so minimal it's not really worth adding. Borax would be a much stronger additive and better product, if someone was trying to remove Odors. Lastly, mixing Baking Soda & Vinegar doesn't accomplish literally anything. You are just watching the effects of two chemical agents, neutralize each other. If you were going to do this again, I would suggest just using the Persil Alone, or adding something like OxiClean or Biz Laundry Booster instead of Baking Soda. And whatever you do, do not Soak Clothes in Chlorine Bleach for extended periods of time....See MoreWould like to try Persil.
Comments (3)Just answered your mail. :) And keep in mind, Persil works best in longer FL washes so the five enzymes it has can do their job and the detergent is concentrated - not sure how this would work out in your Maytag TL. Alex...See MorePersil 2 in 1...the smell!
Comments (100)Persil works nicely for me. No objectionable odor. I don't recall any issues with stains. That being said, I'm using a stash of Pro Clean Power Pearls and Pro Clean 2-in-1 Liquid bought SIX years ago at the time Power Pearls was discontinued (I have one bottle of Pearls remaining) so can't say how the older liquid formulation and scent may compare to the current. I have hard water, although always spiked with STPP. Sudsing is manageable. Dosing the liquid is a bit trickier than the powder. I use 1 to 2 oz of either depending on the load....See MorePersil ProCaps...do they smell like Persil ProClean?
Comments (29)I don't know what I will do if Cheer is discontinued. I have many boxes of original (non-HE, Larsi-scent) Tide powder and probably have a box of the large Cheer. If it's gone I'll probably have to go to an unscented or maybe Miele Color powder. I was actually in the Miele store today because my vacuum just stopped working. They are now selling laundry appliances and detergent, whereas previously they only dealt with the vacuums and floor care. They have both Miele detergents and a variety of Persil. When I go back to pick up my vacuum, I'll probably get some liquid Persil (euro). I've never tried it....See Moregeorgect
