Please help me with my family room layout.
Comments (3)you can link to your photobucket album by copying the link into the space below your message where it says: optional URL link. in the second line space, just make up a name for it and type it there. something like Margaritalady's family room. Or you can click on the photos you want to post (one at a time) in the html box (it will say, "copied" and then paste them into the body of the message here. Make sure they are not too big. The html will post as text and you can only see if your pics are going to appear by using the preview message button. You should then see all your photos as they will appear. Let us know if this isn't clear....See MorePlease help me design my family rooom built-ins
Comments (12)AnnieDeighnaugh - always love seeing your beautiful built-ins:) I haven't forgotten your clever pull-outs! Your bridge ties in the built-ins very nicely. Holly-Kay, I remember your kitchen cabinets turned out beautifully, I am going to hunt for pictures. No need to be envious (yet) - maybe I'll be done with this room in 5 years?!! voila - You may call me oldbat any time you like, no offense taken! Thank you for the feedback and ideas. Here's a shot with the deeper lower cabinets and lower built in height. I also adjusted the vertical stiles to 3". Need to really tackle the trimwork in sketchup to mirror what's in place; that will be a big part of getting this right. Note that there will be 4" free on both sides of the sofa. I don't think I like the deeper lowers, not sure it is as clean looking as I would like. Yes, I do want to increase the width and it does appear that the lower height does this. I will explore your idea of the bookshelves on the inside and front, interesting concept! Thanks all and please keep the ideas coming!...See MoreNew! Comments (8)How much seating do you need on a regular basis? I would be inclined to get a leather couch, that would sit to the left of the fireplace, facing the dining area. Sofa table behind the couch, with lamps. Nesting tables at the fireplace end, to be used as needed. Opposite, on the right side of the fireplace, a pair of chairs that recline. No ottomans, as I see that being an obstacle for your son. The recliners let you put your feet up as desired, but are not in the way the rest of the time. A nice table and lamp between the two chairs. No coffeetable needed. The tv moves to the stairway wall, where the couch is now. Wall mounted or on an entertainment stand. If there is room for the bookcase beside it, fine, but I have a feeling that wonâÂÂt work, in part because I believe I see the thermostat there. In that case, you could put another chair against the wall for extra seating. with a wall-mounted swing arm lamp beside it, and a narrow table next to it. I wouldnâÂÂt necessarily drywall in the space over the fireplace - it could be a cool display niche, especially if you could add some lighting into the top of it....See MorePlease help me redo my family room
Comments (12)I like the TV stand you posted, just make sure it is at least 25% wider than the TV. Center it on the wall. Center sewing table on the other wall. Declutter. If the bookcases would fit together on the wall to left of the door that would be great. Maybe do a gallery of the family pictures over the sewing table. You need something much larger over FP, art should be the size of the fire box, that will help with you balance. Hang panels on the windows, rods hung halfway between window top & ceiling and wider than window. I would also paint a lighter color to balance all that is going on in the room. BM Edgecomb Gray is a nice greige so is Balboa Mist...See MoreJustKatie E
