the problem might be Iron Chlorosis http://www.ext.colostate.edu/mg/gardennotes/223.html#water The term chlorosis means a general yellowing of the leaves. Many factors contribute to chlorosis. Iron chlorosis refers to a yellowing caused by an iron deficiency in the leaf tissues. The primary symptoms of iron deficiency include interveinal chlorosis, i.e., a general yellowing of leaves with veins remaining green. In severe cases, leaves may become pale yellow or whitish, but veins retain a greenish cast. Angular shaped brown spots may develop between veins and leaf margins may scorch (brown along the edge). [Figure 1] Iron chlorosis shows first and more severely on the newer growth at branch tips. Growing leaves may be smaller than normal. Leaves may eventually curl, dry up, and fall. Fruits may be small with a bitter flavor. Mildly affected plants become unsightly and grow poorly. In severe cases or if iron chlorosis persists over several years, individual limbs or the entire plant may die.

You know what, I didn't add gypsum to that mix. That tree was the first thing I planted in gritty mix and I don't recall adding anything but the granite, turface, and bark. I ordered Foliage Pro a few days ago however so the gypsum won't be needed now anyway. I have been using Vinegar in my water but it's possible that it's not enough. If the pH is still too high it might be blocking the uptake of nutrients. I use 2oz of white vinegar in my two gallon watering jug. The pH of our water is nearly 8 so it probably wouldn't hurt to add a little extra. I read in a couple other threads that those of you who use gritty mix sometimes fertilize with every watering at a lower concentration. Looking back on the past couple weeks I've been using diluted fertilizer maybe once every four waterings so I'm thinking I just need to increase my fertilizer use. This is typically what I post for neem application directions: Neem Oil Insecticide 1 pint very hot water 1 pint rubbing alcohol or ethanol 1 tsp pure, cold-pressed neem oil 1/2 tsp Castile Peppermint Soap, Murphy’s Oil Soap, or insecticidal soap In a 1 qt spritzer, mix the neem with the soap & hot water. Shake vigorously. Add the alcohol & shake again. Shake regularly/vigorously to keep the mixture emulsified as you spritz the plant, making sure as you spritz you’re covering all the vegetative surfaces, especially the underside of leaves and leaf/branch crotches. Use all the mix same day or discard. Use only pure, cold-pressed neem oil, such as that packaged by Dyna-Gro. I can see where Jaydub83 might think that Citrus Killer's tree might be suffering from a magnesium deficiency. The leaf symptoms on the tree do look something like a magnesium deficiency. However Magnesium deficiencies always show up on a tree's older leaves , and Citrus Killer's tree is showing deficiency symptoms on the new younger leaves. It is possible the problem is an iron deficiency. Iron deficiency symptoms are NEW leaves with green veins on otherwise yellow leaf (no green border areas around the veins). Could be due to actual iron nutrient deficiency, but in Citrus Killer's tree it could also well be a pH problem.
