Comments (61)@beaglenc Your description sounds like it may be a form of tarnish that is appearing because of the water (with detergent and/or fabric softner) is splashing up and hitting it above the water line. I figure it's not getting it below the water line because the friction from the moving clothes, etc. is polishing it off. They do say that the tub gets smoother with use. I'll bet the "ring" will come off with a bit of Bar Keepers Friend....See MoreKerosene smell in clothes dryer - mystery solved!
Comments (27)Thank you for this post! I couldn't figure out why my clothes smellled like butane . I wasn't sure if my dryer was going bad, if the dryer ventilation was clogged (even though my ventilation dryer pipes were recently installed) or if I had a gas leak. We can't live without a dryer and yet, I was mostly concerned with safety. After reading this post, I realized that my floors were sanded and stained the day (and day after) I ran my dryer. I would have never attributed that terrible smell to the floor chemicals seeping into my dryer without these posts! Its been a few days now and clothes are drying and smelling great. Hope the butane smell washes out of those 2 chemical loads....See MoreSpeed Queen Manual Dial Gas Dryer
Comments (27)I remember Miele told me years & years ago...DO NOT open the dryer door during operation. As Dadoes said it puts stress on the heating element, and sometimes it can create a "snafu" in the moisture processor, and the dryer thinks it should start "all over again". I know this sounds crazy, and I do not know if I believe it...but I never open the door during operation. Some people like to see their laundry being dried, so I've noticed many new dryers are using clear doors, like on washers! Miele used clear doors on the T98xx dryers, but has gone back to solid doors for residential units. Little Giant and OctoPlus have clear doors!...See MoreSpeedQueen gas dryer not working properly
Comments (3)We had the same issue. We cleaned out the vent and that didn't fix it so my husband took it apart and cleaned out everything he could. It worked awhile and then did not work but we noticed the the glow plug came on and the burner would light once but once it would not light again. The glow plug would come on briefly every 45 seconds or so but it would not light. We thought it was the solenoid so are picking up parts tomorrow. It started working again tonight....See MoreAbby F
